This was just enough for our steps going upstairs... I was always worried that our dog was going to fall going down the steps as he goes so fast sometimes, so having this on puts me at ease that he wont fall and break his leg or something.Once the backing comes off, and the tread is laid down, it does stick to the step , but it doesn't stick so hard that you have to really work at it to get it off, it just holds it down a bit, but nonetheless, after 2 weeks of being on the stairs they are not moving. Time will tell if they continue to hold, but so far, I am impressed how well they are working, and actually they are quite attractive too for the price , as well they vacuum up very easily , as long as you don't use a crazy amount of suction.

I installed these on our newly stained and glossy stairs. They peeled and went down well and a few corners stuck up, but I steamed them after I was done with my iron.They look great, we think, and are the sure worryless answer for our little dog to go up and down easily and not fall as he runs.I have included our steps before and after.This was done yesterday (Oct.30th), so I will see how they stand up.We could NOT believe how quickly they were delivered. We ordered Thursday the night before and came first thing Friday of the next day!So far, we have no issues whatsoever.

What a waste of money! Washed our laminate stairs down before applying these. It was easy to remove the clear plastic film on the treads. It isn’t a rubber backing as the product information specifies ….more like a slippery plastic undersurface. These treads do not adhere in any way, shape or form to our new laminate stairs! I had hoped to provide some secure traction for our senior dog. I can see her feet hitting these and the tread moving around and possibly causing her greater peril. Terrible product! Looks like I will have to invest in carpet tape and I had really hoped to avoid using tape. More money down the drain.

Can’t attest to durability as they have only been in place a couple of weeks. However, they look good, have stayed stuck down, were very easy to install, they prevent people from slipping on the slippery wood and came with 2 more than I needed so I can replace two if necessary. Only advice is to be careful when you are removing the plastic sheet from the back of the tread. There is a little red arrow to pull which helps remove the film. If you inadvertently pull the arrow off too quickly it is hard to get the film off.

UPDATE: supplier not only sent 2 but a full new set. Very pleased with the service. My alternative was to ship them all back to Amazon and re order so I contacted supplier direct and they sent me the correct treads.Original: I just received my order. While the treads look good, havnt tried yet, 13 were one pattern and 2 were a different pattern. I've contacted the seller to see if they can fix this as very anxious to use them and not have to ship everything back. Diamond2 was a nice choice. I thought it would have a lighter colour in it but it is just dark brown with the pattern engraved.
