Comic genius Jim Carrey stars with Jennifer Aniston and Morgan Freeman in the entertaining comedy hit of the year that critics are applauding as a “laugh a minute” (Jim Ferguson, FOX-TV). Bruce Nolan (Carrey) is a TV reporter who believes the entire universe is stacked against him. In a life-altering encounter, the Big Guy Upstairs (Freeman) endows Bruce with all His divine powers and challenges Bruce to take on the big job to see if he can do it any better. Bruce Almighty is the wildly funny comedy featuring “Jim Carrey at his best” (Leonard Maltin, Hot Ticket). Review: Hilarious and Full of Heart - One of My Favorites! - This is one of my all time favorite movies! I'm not always a huge fan of Jim Carrey because I sometimes find his movie characters/voices and comedy to be so over that top that it's annoying, but I love him in this movie because it's the perfect blend of physical comedy, sarcasm, and heart. Jim Carey plays Bruce Nolan, a TV reporter frustrated with the fluff stories he gets sent to cover, like the world's largest cookie, and amuses himself by being funny in his comments on air, but is really upset that he's not taken seriously and always bypassed for his co-worker, Evan Baxter (Steve Carrel). His girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston) loves him but is frustrated by his lack of seriousness about the future of their relationship and selfishness but tries to stand by him even when he gets fired for an angry on air outburst, but breaks up with him eventually. He feels like everything is crumbling around him and blames God (Morgan Freeman). After an angry rant at God, he goes to an abandoned building where he meets God. God has filing cabinets of all the things everyone's done wrong (boy, I'd hate to see mine haha) and he gives a few examples of Bruce's failures. Morgan Freeman is perfect as God - he's witty but seeks to teach Bruce a lesson by saying "If you think you can do better than me, go ahead." Comedy ensues as Bruce abuses his power by embarrassing Evan on air and making his sex life better for example. Eventually Bruce gets back to work and covers crazy stories but he finds it means nothing without Grace and that after a few weeks with powers, he feels bombarded with the world's struggles and starts to see that being God isn't easy and that he needed to change so he could be better for himself and others. I love the heart and messages of the movie: being selfish leads to losing things you love, be careful what you wish for, you can't change someone's free will even if you are God, and take a moment to think of the needs/struggles of others and how you can help them instead of yourself. Bruce has a life changing experience that changes him for the better. This movie is the perfect blend of funny and serious and has so many laugh out loud moments and a phenomenal cast - you won't be disappointed! Review: Good product - Tremenda movie

Heres a summary!
Bruce Almighty (2003) is a comedy film starring Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, a down-on-his-luck TV reporter who is frustrated with his life and the world around him. After a series of unfortunate events, Bruce angrily blames God (played by Morgan Freeman) for his problems. In response, God gives Bruce His divine powers to see if he can do a better job. Bruce initially uses these powers for selfish and chaotic purposes, but he eventually learns the importance of responsibility, humility, and love. The movie blends humor with heart, exploring themes of personal growth and the impact of one's choices. It’s a lighthearted yet thought-provoking film about how power and control can affect relationships and life’s meaning.

Like a few of the reviewers of this film, I must confess, I never have been a fan or particularly keen on films starring Jim Carrey. However, in this particular instance, I am more than happy to make this the exception to the rule and to give credit where credit is due, Jim Carrey's inimitable, zany, OTT style is exactly what makes this film eminently watchable. Personally, I think JC's performance and portrayal of the character Bruce Nolan is superb, quite exceptional and outstanding - he simply excels. The character is played with such enthusiasm and zest, you cannot but help become quickly immersed and absorbed in the storyline, no matter how "outlandish", at first, it may appear. Underpinning the wonderful humour and amazing visual comedy is a nice, touching and moral storyline. The film, like Jim Carrey's style, is fast-paced but gently slows during the more touching and thoughtful moments. This film cannot fail to amuse from the outset and by the end would [well it should] have uplifted and touched you on a few levels but do not want to disclose any of the content for fear of spoiling it for any other potential viewers. This is a role where JC truly excels himself but this review would not be complete without acknowledging the supporting roles portrayed by Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Aniston certainly, in their respective roles, equal to that of Jim Carrey's performance and also, in his own way, Steve Carrell. I guess the moral of the story is that `the grass is not always greener on the other side', and what we consider important, is not necessarily the case but it is a real cool, best of fun, barrel of laughs, roller-coaster of a ride, learning that. I could write at greater length but will refrain from doing so because, as stated previously, do not want to disclose any content to spoil it for anyone else considering watching. Laugh? It had been quite a while since I had so thoroughly enjoyed such natural, side-splitting, belly-aching, exuberant and frequent outbursts of laughter and mirth such as those experienced while watching `Bruce Almighty' and whenever I watch it again, it never fails to amuse, delight and uplift. This film most definitely has the `Feel Good Factor', in bundles. . . . Is this a good film - No, it's good, GOOD! Watch it you'll see. It is indeed, B E A UUUUUTIFUL! As an afterthought having, now, watched this, maybe, just maybe, I will reconsider my opinion of Jim Carrey, give him the benefit of the doubt and might well watch some of his other movies.
