I have this radio and also the C Crane solar observer,The Ironsnow IS 399, and the newer version of the Fospower style radio . This radio does really well compared to them even better.Lighting----battery capacity------sos alert--------Noaa weather reception is very good. AM FM reception is good.Where is does not match or equal the other radios is the audio.The sound of the radio is just okThe radio is plenty loud but depending on the strength of the received station you can not turn the radio down to a low or whisper volume without the sound distorting.So you have to have the volume up a certain degree to have acceptable audio. But if you can overlook that this is a good emergency radio.Has a abs/rubber coating for a splash resistant IPx3 Ratingtwo 4000mah lithium batteriesvery loud sos siren and flashing lighttwo great lights and reading lamphas very good noaa weather reception with alertcrank ,solar and ush charging

We’ve only had this unit for a short time so I can’t speak to battery life although I appreciate the multiple ways it can be charged and/or used. We recently had bad weather forecasted for our area and, in fact, had a tornado watch issued. The radio about gave us a heart attack when it alerted……I’d not noticed the volume was all the way up! My fault but it reassured me that we would be awakened if a warning were issued.
