Instructions could be clearer but it all works for me.
Bought two of these as a starter into smart home tech. The plan was to use Alexa to turn on and off both a light and an electric fire.I have Alexa on a Firestick Tv. I have a Virgin broadband connection via a superhub. The Virgin superhub already had both a 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi set up, but this product only works with 2.4GHz of course. I needed to do nothing at all to the Virgin broadband side of things. It all worked seamlessly. I can see from other reviews people have had issues with other broadband providers, so I can only speak for myself. It took about ten minutes of following the slightly unclear instructions to get the first plug installed and operational, and about a minute for the second.Broadly, you need to download the Weconn app to your phone/tablet first. Create an account with Weconn, and remember the username and password. Add your wifi network name and password to the app. Plug in the device. Power it up. Add the device in the app. The app searches for the plug, so now hold down the button on the plug until the blue light flashes fast. Note it flashes slowly at first - keep the button held until it flashes fast and then release. The app should then see the plug (and send it your wifi details) and it will connect to your wifi.Once you've got that working, and assuming you want Alexa as as well, you:Go to the Weconn app again. You should now be seeing your plug listed there. Give it a sensible name, then launch the Alexa app on your phone or tablet. Go to skills and search for Seetime. Click enable. It will ask for the account details you made at the beginning when you first installed the Weconn app. Once in (you're still doing all this in the Alexa app) click Discover, and now Alexa should find your plug. Now you can use the Alexa to do things with the plug. I had mine responding to "turn on the light", "turn off the fire" in just a few minutes. I also added an Alexa routine (in the Alexa app again) and saying "Goodnight" to Alexa turns them both off.All good fun. Incidentally, I then built, using a raspberry pi, an instance of Alexapi (alternative to an Echo) and it all worked fine with that too, but that's outside the scope of this review.Drawbacks - the instructions do make sense but take them one bit at a time. They don't really explain the concepts, which I hope I have done a bit more clearly. Also, there is an "energy use" feature, which is supposed to let you set a start and end date on a calendar in the Weconn app and it tells you how much energy that plug has used. I don't believe the figures, to be honest, especially as some of them show as negative! And I also had hopes of connecting this via OpenHab and/or IFTTT but neither currently supports this kit, so keep clear if you want those. But for the low price, it works, does what it's supposed to, and I'm pleased (as long as it all keeps working of course). Recommended.

Okay but could be improved.
I am a great fan of automation and an avid user of Amazon Alexa and British Gas Hive products. I already have a Hive Smart Plug which works very well and was easy to set up , however a lot more expensive than some of the newer arrivals on the smart plug scene. With this in mind I purchased a Horsky smart plug , which as a piece of hardware matches the Hive equivalent. However the existing Horsky user instructions and associated app are poor and set up was initially frustrating however solved via YouTube . If the instructions and app receive the attention they need then I could well give this product a 5 star review.Update 1. Plug has stopped responding to Alexa voice commands. It is recognised by Alexa but will no longer switch on or off with voice so have to use app to control.Update 2 Has started working again so appears to have an intermittent fault.

Works brilliantly once set up
The only reason this item has been given 4 stars is with problems setting up due to poor instructions.PLEASE NOTE THE CORRECT ANDROID APP TO DOWNLOAD. It would have been helpful for the manual to differentiate between the 'Weconn' app which does not work with this device and the 'Seetime Weconn plug' app which does !!!Once this app is setup I found connecting to an Echo reasonably straightforward, if you follow the instructions provided. I wont go through guidance on setup as others have. The manual makes it clear that it the plug will not connect on 5G wifi connection and suggests you switch such a signal off - I dont think this is necessary as long as you are sure that when you are setting the device up you connect your mobile on the 2.5G circuit the device will use. Once setup the mobile and Echo can be on any wifi connected to your network. In my case I have two 5g networks and four 2.5g networks in the house running without problems with my Echo and mobile working on any of them. One feature that is not obvious in the description is that you can switch the device on and off using a switch on the front. This is detetced by Alexa or its own app which can then be used to control it as you wish. I have found Alexa does not always indicate correctly if it is on or off but does follow instructions correctly. In other words if you ask Alexa to switch it off it will do even if it thinks it is already off !

Very pleased
Arrived quickly and followed by an email from seller with instructions on set up. Foolproof.I plugged into socket downloaded the app to my iPhone using the scan facility. Registered using my phone number and a passwordUsing app I searched for device and when asked, provided my router passcode. Simple. I then renamed the plug to where it would be used i.e 'lamp'Then went into Alexa app and typed the name of sockets app into skills menu and once added set Alexa to search for the plug. It identified 'lamp' and that was that

NOT AS DESCRIBED AT ALL, A NIGHTMARE TO PAIR AND WON'T pair with ALEXA TO TOP IT ALL !!!!
This plug is a complete nightmare to pair. I tried 4 times with the Smart Life APP "Unable to pair", Tried My Smart home APP 3 times the same result. Installed the Weconn Plug app and on the fourth attempt on that it finally paired after much playing about. I have never had such a hard device to pair !!!! I now will try at and see if it is more reliable in use and update the review !!! The trouble is AMAZON have made returns so much harder since switching to HERMES for collections. A friend still has an item awaiting collection from 3 weeks ago. !!!Well the final result is that the APP used is unknown by ALEXA skills so it will not pair with it making it a completely useless item for an ALEXA controlled smart plug. I tried the companion APP suggested in the instructions and it showed but, was completely unresponsive even on a socket 15 feet from the router.Returning it in the morning as it is not fit for purpose, buy cheap buy twice !!DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM !!!!
