this was a very good purchase. they were one of the cheapest on Amazon and they arrived in good time and well packaaged.they have a tab on the top to enable to lock them closed when not in use. they have a rubber grip handle and have a good wide surface in which to grip steaks etc when cooking. they are well sized and feel sturdy. they are also dishwasher safe. would definately recommend.

First of all day to day use. This product really is (was) excellent and had a really good "feel" in use, a kitchen utensil that was a pleasure to use and had a feel of real quality about it. Sadly in the end the quality (durability) of the product wasn't quite what I would have hoped for and after 17 months use it broke (one of the advantages of the Amazon 'My Orders' record is you can go back and find out exactly when you bought it) - the spring which keeps the two handles apart broke, rendering the product useless.Still, it had a fair amount of use, and for a fiver maybe expectations shouldn't be TOO high. It was so good in use I'm about to risk ordering another. 5/5 for day to day ease of use and performance, 3/5 for durability, giving an overall score of 4/5.

These tongs look good, are easy to use and have the added bonus of the locking mechanism. Perfect size for most dishes, very versatile tool. Well designed, and the grip, combined with the serrated tong, allows you to manoeuvre large pieces of meat with ease

They are heavy duty. Suitable for a BBQ but I use them for my oven. Easy to clean, hard to break. What more can I say, they are great indeedy you bet ya. Would buy again. Only downside is they spring and stay open. It's not really a downside though, they close and have a great grip.

The pressed section of the handles could be a nuisance to clean if you got some food up there but the business ends of the tongs are sturdy, meet together perfectly and are good grippers (so no chance of dropping hot food like my old silicone ended tongs).

These tongs seem very sturdy (bought them some time ago and they are still in perfect condition). Obviously they can be used in any situation where fingers would be best but they don't singe like fingers do (and of course they are a lot easier to clean)!You pull out the rod on the end and they spring open, which helps with storing them in the cutlery drawer (I need all the help I can get). I can see no sign at all of them failing and would recommend them to anyone as a very useful piece of kitchen equipment.I only gave them 4 out of 5 because they do seem a bit light and flimsy although I see no sign as yet of this affecting their performance.

These tongs rank amongst the best I have ever used; not only do they close sufficiently to grip even thin items such as bacon over long-term use, they also have a clip that holds them together so they use up less space in the drawer as well as the dishwasher.The handles are comfortable to hold and it is easy to pick up food; so often I have found tongs don't close sufficiently to pick things up, particularly after they have been in use for a couple of weeks. I have been using these particular tongs for about a year and they still work as well as they did when brand new. Whilst you can get different tongs for less initial outlay, they tend to need replacement on a regular basis whereas this particular item has impressed with its continued good performance.

These tongs are easy to use and hold the food well due to the shape of the tips. The problem I have is the design that locks the arms together when the hook at the end is pulled out. This is fine when hanging them up as it prevents the arms from hanging out and using up a lot of space and, believe me, the arms open very wide indeed so great for large potatoes etc. Unfortunately, most of the time you don't need them that wide but when you hold them it's easy to inadvertently push the hooked end in thus making them open very wide and making them less user-friendly. It's a good idea in principle but some kind of sliding button on the side would have worked better as it would have been less easy to open them fully wide unintentionally.
