It does the job really quickly

I had some of these then brought another four when Amazon dropped them down to £16.00 due to overstocking I think. They keep the surface of the water crystal clear. My angel fish ignored the spawning cone laid their eggs on these. Parents moved the babies to a plant once they hatched but these skimmers provided a nice smooth, warm surface according to my angel fish. I have a total of nine of these skimmers - one for each tank. They make all the difference to the surface water quality - especially if you regularly feed live food to your fish - mine get live food every day. If you have floating plants they will love with this skimmer. Before my floating just died off/went brown. Turn the skimmer off for dry food or it will suck the food up in smaller tanks. Some people said it is noisy. Just make sure the the product is lined up so it fits into the slots properly. If it makes noise just bob it down and it becomes quiet. Also check there are no floating plants in the top as that can cause a noise. All mine are silent. If they make a gurgling noise I just bob the top cone down in the water, it bobs back up and any noise stops. Rarely happens though. Great product which my angels trust enough to lay their eggs on. I don't like the sponge filter it comes with so use a little ball of filter floss which is absolutely filthy when I change it twice a week. That keeps the water crystal clear. The skimmers purchased from Amazon came with an EU plug but I did not mind buying an adapter as the skimmers are so good and I got four at knock down price then paid full price for a further two so I have one skimmer for each of my many tanks. They work in all my tanks with an adjustable flow which can generate loads of bubbles=oxygen. Maybe not suitable for slow flow fish such as bettas and pea puffers. Enjoy.

This is the second of these I’ve purchased (I accidentally damaged the cable of my first one after three years of use. For the price, this is a good little skimmer. It comes with a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty and is very easy to install (it’s ready straight out of the box, you just need to put the suckers on). It’s small, unobtrusive and virtually silent. I can only hear mine if I’m standing next to the tank listening for it. I run a medium sized mixed reef (250L) without a sump and the skimmer is in the corner of the main tank. The surface was clear within five minutes of putting the skimmer in.

The unit is great, until it stopped working. I've tried to email Eheim UK and NL from the emailed provided on their support website to get a replacement unit, and no emails work. This is one of the best skimmers that I have seen and the best that I have owned, and am on the verge of just buying a new one, but the fact that it has a 3 year warranty and has died in 1 year is really annoying. Amazon won't do anything either as it needs to go through the company

I'd read a few reviews, and some thought that it was noisy or didn't work properly, but personally I cannot fault it. I've kept tropical fish for over 20 years, but never ever thought of getting a surface skimmer, but thought I'd give it a whirl. It is a small and very simple device, and installs very easily to the aquarium wall. The only tricky thing is inserting the suckers in to the back of the unit! As soon as you switch it on, you can see it doing its job as surface scum is gently sucked into it to be stopped by the filter sponge. I have had this running for several days now, and I can honestly say that my water has never been cleaner, and the surface sparkles. Gas exchange seems to be more efficient too. I have CO2 injection for my planted tank, which at times has caused the fish to gasp at the surface, but since this has been running, the fish are perfectly happy and never come to the surface except to feed! Highly recommended product which I wish I had bought sooner.

Waardeloos, zuignapjes zitten niet goed waardoor de bovenste het glas niet raakt. Sponsje is wel 1,5cm2 groot waardoor je het min. 1 maar meestal 2x per dag moet schoonmaken. De skimmers van Ali die maar een derde kosten zijn vele malen beter.

Fait parfaitement le job, je l’installe 15 min, j’ai quand même changé la mousse, j’ai mis une plus fine.

It's fantastic product. Very useful. Within few minutes of use, the water surface became mirror clear. The most convenient part is the floating head. The tiny powerhead inside delivers a solid flow that can be used as additional filter flow in any direction as per setup. Hope it lasts for long as Eheims powerheads are renowned for its longevity. The seller was very prompt and the item was delivered 3/4 days before the scheduled date. Highly recommended

Llevo unos 6 años usándolo y sigue funcionando como el primer día. Es perfecto para eliminar el biofilm de forma rápida. La única pega es que, con el tiempo, las ventosas se cuartean y pierden succión, por lo que con el tiempo toca buscar una alternativa para fijarlo. Pese a ese detalle, funciona a la perfección. Una compra excelente por su durabilidad.
