Great Big Knife!
This is a great knife! It is actually bigger then I thought it would be and the handle is the perfect size for my big hands. The knife came sharp for the most part, just a couple spots towards the tip that will need to be touched up but yes over all could shave hair off my arm with it! Now I will probably be getting the 7in one for those smaller jobs. Cant wait to use this with my outdoor flat top grille and while on camping and canoeing trips!

This 14 inch Butcher Knife is Excellent. And at an excellent price
This 14 inch Butcher Knife is Excellent. And at an excellent price. I cannot stop picking it up and swinging it. It has a great heft and beefiness about it. I wish it came with a sheath.

This is a really big knife!
This knife is much larger than I expected, so if you are buying it be aware that the blade is 14 inches, not the whole knife. I think the whole knife is 22", check the specs. So, I thought I was buying a carving knife for one of my sons... This particular knife, sold as a "butchers" knife, is about the size of a small machete or perhaps a Roman short sword, so be aware of what you are buying so, if you are slaughtering stock or dressing deer or hog, this is the knife for you.I own several Ontario knives and I can tell you they are fantastic knives. You have to treat the blade with respect, wash & dry after use. It is carbon (not stainless) steel and will take an incredible edge, much better than stainless, but will rust and stain if you don't treat it well. It is good to have a butcher's steel to sharpen it (and all knives). One gives it a few strokes on the steel before each use and it will give fabulous performance. When you are finished wash it carefully with soap and water and dry it off. Takes about 20 seconds. If it gets away from you and stains use baking soda and a cork to scrub it; or the green scratchy on a MMM sponge. No problem.
