This is an edit to my original review:Within days of posting my original review and my complaint regarding the quality of the zips I was contacted by the seller who offered me a full refund. I declined the offer mainly because the gilet would have been very satisfactory if not for the zip quality which was my biggest and only gripe, otherwise I was very pleased with the overall look of the garment and intended to keep it and I was not looking for a freebie but rather just giving an honest review. However shortly after the seller offered me a replacement vest with metal zips, it was a similar style but 100% cotton in a faded Khaki colour and asked me for an honest review of it. I can certainly say that the replacement vest is fantastic, it is styled identically to the one I originally reviewed with the exception of having metal zip parts and no stitched logo on the front. The logo would have been nice, but overall I much prefer this slightly heavier cotton vest than the polyester one, but it is a case of horses for courses, the lighter polyester vest looks more stylish and is obviously lighter to wear, whereas the 100% cotton has a more rugged look and better suited to outdoor activities and it has a warmer though not heavy feel about it. The faded look of the material also gives it a soft comfortable feel like brushed cotton and in keeping with the polyester vest has really good quality stitching on all the seams and pockets. The sewn in rings below the right and left shoulders plus a single one near the left hand breast pocket looks strong and well stitched into place, they are also a fully formed rings so no danger of prizing open inside the tabs. I can now say that based upon excellent customer service and evaluating the replacement vest I would give this vest a 5 star rating for overall quality.Now I will admit that I usually take a 2XL in most shirt and jumper sizes, so I ordered a 3XL on the basis of needing to stuff pockets with bits and pieces for my hobby of photography. It arrived and I was initially impressed with the look of the thing until I tried it on and there was no way would I have dared to pull up the front zip, it was tight as a drum, so it went straight back again to Amazon and a 4XL was ordered instead, but to be honest that was not much better fitting wise, yes it zipped up OK but it still fitted rather snugger than this sort of garment is intended to be, it should after all be quite roomy to accommodate bulky pockets filled with bits and bobs. But closer inspection revealed its biggest flaw which are the zips themselves, I can honestly say I have never seen poorer quality plasticky looking zips in all my life, they may be just about passable on the pockets, but the main front zip is pathetic, you would get better looking plastic on a cheap comb, I doubt it will last very long. I certainly would not hang anything of value from the stitched in plastic rings such as car keys or maybe a spare camera lens as they look far too weak to be secure. The vest is a very lightweight cotton/polyester type material and to be fair the stitching looks quite good, but the external pockets have hardly any 'bellows' effect to them, so putting items into the pockets just makes the vest a tighter fit on your body rather than the pocket expanding outwards to accommodate the items put inside. This vest arrived with a 'Fishing Vest' label attached to it although the description also said for 'photography' so maybe for small fishing items it would have been OK, but camera stuff? an emphatic no! Having returned one vest already I am reluctant to go through the process once again so will probably wear it unzipped to carry some bits in, although on reflection a ruck sack would have been more useful, but "hey ho" we live and learn.

Quality was just OK for the price and the size issue was OK, so well worth trying out

There is nothing to dislike about this product. Just a word about the size guide. If your measurements tell you get one size get the next size up.

fits just right

I initially liked this very much and ordered a second one to put away for a staycation. However, I have just noticed that the fabric separating the various pockets has a tendency to break down. Which means I sometimes find an item like my debit in the pocket that I placed it in and sometimes in an adjacent pocket. Not good if you are completing a transaction and patting down your pockets.

I would say it nearly fitted except if the inner pockets were filled it would not fit and filling the pockets is the reason for wearing. The quality appeared good particularly the main zip. This was the only polycotton gilet I could find. All others seemed to be cotton but I particularly wanted polycotton. As is common sizing is pot luck. The product description says L chest is 122cm (48"). My chest with thin shirt is 110cm. I measured the vest as 120cm. So why did id barely fit? No idea. Something to do with the cut I think. The product description sizing link has a typo affecting L chest sizing.All that said, given a decent fit I think this is a product worth having. Just hope the XL works for me. Update: received the XL. A good fit, sometimes I am L, sometimes XL

Full of pockets as described, don't know how well the zips will last as they're not metal but all the sewing is good. Sizing at medium was spot on but if you're going to wear it over a fleece etc go up a size. It's very lightweight so perfect for roaming with pockets full.

The vest is nicely made but not to size. It runs really small.

Die Herren-Weste sieht super aus und trägt sich auch super. Tolle viele Taschen für alle möglichen Dinge.Hinweis: für deutsche XL-Männer ist die engliche Version XL zu klein. Es empfiehlt sich mindestens eine Konfektionsgröße größer zu nehmen. Mussten die Weste aus diesem Grunde leider zurücksenden und XXL bestellen. Ansonsten jederzeit zu empfehlen.
