Sumptuous. An Extraordinary book for anyone who loves gardens. The formal beauty of Italian gardens is quite different than English or French gardens.

Not as aspiring as describe...

Uninspiring.
The photography in this book is really sub-standard though it is possible that this factor is an artefact of older photographic equipment and methods. The colors are subdued, it looks like the photographer chose cloudy days to work, and the gardens are definitely NOT shown to their best advantage. Not really a book I would put out for guests to look at since it is so uninspiring.
