It was Funny , had a lesson to be remembered !
I Loved every thing about this book ,I have read this book numerous times in my 15 years of teaching four year old's ! I ordered it for my four year old granddaughter because its a lesson she needed to learn ( showing off is not so great after all ) !

A cute story about a naughty dragon
A perfect story to teach social skills (such as not bragging too much)

The animal characters have authentic childrenโs personalities
A delightful story with charming illustrations. It has a friendship theme and offers opportunities to discuss showing off and saying โnot so niceโ things to friends. My favorite illustrations are the ones with popcorn. Since weโve been quarantining, I started doing some unofficial summertime homeschooling with grandchildren (8 & 5) and there are lots of popcorn themed activities to use for math, letters, sight words, etc. so we got this book to go with our activities. And, of course, we had to eat some popcorn along with this fun book!

The Popcorn Dragon
Every child loves to show off a new achievement, whether it is hopping on one foot, tumbling, or using new words. Every parent has been exasperated when the child's pride turns into bragging and becomes offensive. The dragon in Jane Thayer's book depicts these traits, and children can see how obnoxious the little dragon is and how he hurts his friends. When the dragon realizes that his friends no longer want to be around him, he finds a way to use his new talent and win back the affection of the other animals. The story provides opportunities for parents and children to talk about using abilities in a sharing manner.

Learn from the Popcorn Dragon!
Popcorn Dragon is a GREAT story with a wonderful message/moral for children! Actually, we could all learn from the Popcorn Dragon about the effects of bragging and showing off and then the benefits of sharing and being nice to friends.

Disapointed
I was disapointed when I opened the bag with my ordered product, finding it in several wrapped sheets of newspaper. The book was not up to my standards from what I read here on amazon. It was not in "good" condition. Corners of the cover are bent and pages are very wrinkled & almost looking water damaged. I understand I only paid a penny but the description of the condition is very off. I would have found a better one if I knew the exact condition of the book I purchased.

beautiful
The story and what it teaches (use your unique strengths to help others, not to make them feel bad) are great, and the artwork is beautiful. Altogether a delightful children's book that I hope will become a favorite as my 8-month-old grows. I only wish both of the baby dragon's parents were in it.

Fun book for activity
We read the book and then made popcorn & colored it with food coloring and it was used to create the wings. Came out pretty cool and it was a nice reminder to kids to be kind to one another
