Extremely Versatile Magnifier, Ten Stars
This versatile magnifier has 3 levels of magnification. Flat is 2X, one pop out is 3X, two pops out is 4X. It’s handiness makes me want to say it is the best portable magnifier I’ve ever had. I disagree with some other reviews that say you can’t take this to read a soup can at the store or you have to take the battery out to plug it in. Lol This magnifier is not made for that. Who would use it plugged in anyway? What a pain that would be. If you want to read soup cans then get a pocket magnifier. This was made for the home and to be used with batteries. The cord was a silly add on that will never be used. That being said this is versatile. Being in electronics and security, I use it to examine circuit boards, look at a cut key, look a small markings and also read instructions etc. Works like a charm, I have it out at all times in the bag with the included lanyard hanging out so one pull and it is in my hands. Anything you need to look close up at this a FAR better alternative than a hand held magnifying glass. The light is indispensable. I’m sure the tilt function would also come in handy for reading. I listen to books so I don’t know. Reading is too tiring to the eyes with or without a magnifier. I’m sure I will find a ton more things to use this for. This also does not need to be on a table to read instructions etc. hold it in your hand and it works the same. A great buy and Very Highly Recommended!!

Wide field of view BUILT-IN RING LIGHT sharp image w/2X-4X magnification
This is a nicely designed magnifier that can be used in either its folded or unfolded position. When unfolded, you can simply place the rubber extension hood on top of the object you want to magnify with no need to hold the magnifier in your hand. The built-in ring-light surrounding the round magnifying lens provides a shadowless view of your subject with three different intensities - selectable by simply pushing the on-button to cycle between high, medium, low and off.The large 2Âľ" diameter lens provides a pretty wide field of view - allowing you to see a larger area at the same time compared to magnifiers with a smaller diameter lens. The optical design provides a modest zoom effect from 2X to 4X magnification by simply moving the magnifier and inch farther away from your subject (thus closer to your eye). The light operates on two CR2016 button cells but can also operate it by connecting the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable between the unit and a wall charger (not supplied). The manufacturer recommends removing the batteries if you are powering the unit through USB but that is a pain in the butt and seems to be a design oversight as most other electronic devices don't require battery removable when powering through USB.All in all I do like the magnifier despite the battery removal issue. It provides a nice sharp image with modest magnification from 2X to 4X and the built-in light makes it a desirable magnifier to have for a host of applications. Two thumbs up for the clearly written and detailed instruction booklet from the US company who made this magnifier. Good instructions have become a rarity from Chinese manufacturers and are greatly appreciated.

An Adjustable Quality Magnifier
Those interested in a practical quality magnifier may find this tool attractive. Its lens is secured in a soft collapsible silicone housing. This protects the lens, and allows it to be extended. In its housing, the lens provides 2x magnification at compressed level (height 1 inch), 3x magnification at the intermediate level (height 2 inches), and 4x magnification at the top level (height 3 inches). When extended to the top level, the magnifier can be angled toward the user approximately 30 degrees for more comfortable posture. This could also be used as a hand-held magnifying glass, although it lacks a handle. The magnifier provides three levels of illumination. Some similar magnifiers feature a single flashlight bulb, which can produce uneven lighting and glare. Illumination in this magnifier is by 14 LED lights arrayed in a circle within the magnifier housing. This offers even illumination with virtually no glare, even when applied to glossy surface objects. The light may be visible if the user looks into the lens indirectly. It is powered by 2 inexpensive lithium CR2016 coin batteries. These are said to offer power 8 to 15 hours, depending on the level of illumination. Alternatively, it can be powered by USB cable connected to an appropriate power source. To extend the lens it is necessary to push it up from the bottom—if this is done carelessly it is easy to put fingerprints on the lens.Collapsed, the magnifier measures about 1” x 5.” It weighs about ¼ of a pound. It comes with an introductory informational leaflet, 2 batteries installed in the housing, an additional 2 batteries in a cellophane wrapper, a storage pouch, a 30-inch USB charging cable, and a microfiber cloth.

Won’t Put a Crick In Your Neck
This is a pretty useful gadget for magnifying text and other objects on a surface. It has a scoping design that allows you to put it flat, and then pull the glass and rubbery housing up to the desired magnification. The maximum magnification is 4X normal when the glass is pulled all the way up. The best feature of this magnifier, though, is the ability to slant the top towards you while still allowing you to see the text you are magnifying. In this mode, it only magnifies to 3X, but that is usually sufficient for most uses. I spend a lot of time looking at documents with small, close text while doing genealogy, and regular magnifying glasses cause me to peer down at the document from above. This can be uncomfortable. This magnifier tilts towards you while allowing you to see the text on the desk. I love that. Plus there is a light, which makes a huge difference in the visibility of the text. The only slight drawback is that it is a bit heavier than a regular magnifying glass, but the benefits far outweigh that minor issue.
