The solar option is nice if you want to use it in a location that is not convenient to power but it is significantly dimmer when used with solar panel. If you're using it with a bunch of other plugged-in lights you're probably going to find that it's not bright enough unless you plug it in. It also has so many different modes that it takes forever to scroll through all of the different options in order to have it just stay on and not blink, etc.

When the sun goes down and the flag comes in, who doesn't want something that still shows their patriotism? When the sun it up it looks like nothing much but stretched out netting. But in the dark the lights are bright and it really has an impact. Since mine is on the north side of the house, am using electricity, not the solar power panel. it went up just before memorial day and will be on 24/7 until after July 4th. Summer nights are too short for there to be people to see it, but it will be plenty visible during the long winter nights and it will remain on for then too!

I love this! Nice and big, not badly priced and looks amazing on the side of my house. The cord is plenty long, leaving multiple options for placement.
