S tier soft drink
We live in an age where the state tells us we can't have sugar any more. Soft drinks have been absolutely ruined by this. Even Pepsi has of late succumbed.Unfortunately I'm very sensitive to the taste of sweeteners in drinks, which left me only able to drink Coca-Cola (which I never liked) and Cherry Coke, which has been ruined by the change in the cherry flavouring.Thankfully, Irn Bru 1901 has stepped up to the plate and it doesn't disappoint. It's way better than the post sugar tax effort and even slightly better than the old full recipe was.The only downers are -It's not available in 2 litre bottlesIt's not quite as "wet" as other bottles of popIt's expensive. Saying that, a quid a can for full sugar drinks isn't out of the way and it's a small price to pay for a good drink.

For true IRN BRU fans
I was a little hesitant on trying this, I have touched "regular" IRN Bru since it was ruined with sweeteners and I was a life long drinker of it and had to give up because it tasted like drain cleaner now alone with every other big name soft drink ruined because of the sugar tax except for regular Coke Cola (even Pepsi sold themselves out to the tax and didn't tell anyone until the sweetened version was already out)This isn't super fizzy as I'd have hoped but the taste and the smell are all there, its like drinking the 2nd half of a 2L bottle when the fizz is starting to go, I'd take this over the disgusting swill they are selling as the "regular" any day, glad I liked this as I bought a 12 pack, gonna save it as a once a week treat with this price tag lolIf you loved the real IRN BRU and can't stomach the other stuff, get this you won't be sorry

Should say old and unruined
The modern Irn Bru just doesn’t taste right to me, I actually prefer the Xtra sugar free. The original 1901 is the best although I wouldn’t say it’s worthwhile for me especially as I actually like the caffeine and find the new Irn Bru wakes me up which I want but when I taste the new regular one it just doesn’t taste right, even though this is my first time trying the original recipe.I’ll go back to Irn Bru Xtra as it’s easier to find but I’m not disappointed with the original 1901, it doesn’t taste much different but you feel that it tastes how it’s meant to taste, it’s just right. It’s good that it doesn’t contain all the chemicals the new ones doThey made it better 123 years ago

It's like a taste of home straight from the Highlands, with its full-sugar, no-caffeine goodness reminding us of the good old days.Sure, it's not quite the same as the IRN-BRU we grew up with, but it's as close as you can get without hopping on a time-traveling haggis. It's like a wee rebellion in a can, sticking it to the sugar-reducing powers that be.So, whether you're a bonnie lass or a braw lad, raise a can of IRN-BRU 1901 and toast to the sweet taste of Scotland.
