Did the job
The instructions were clear & easy to follow, and was able to seal the crack in my moped plastic fuel tank with out needing to drain the tank. Been in place for a week now with no issues.

Works well
This got me out of a big hole. I recommend anyone with a plastic oil tank to get this kit for emergencies. This product was used to fix a 5cm split which had appeared inthe tank. After draining the tank I left the product to cure for a day before re-filling. 6 months on and there's no sign of any leak or weeping. You are supposed to be able to use this with oil in the tank but I can't comment on it's effectiveness that was as I'd already drained the tank before I managed to purchase this item.Derek

Quiksteel plastic tank repair kit
I'm sure this kit is very useful if you happen to have the right type of plastic. Bought to try a temporary repair on a stress fractured domestic heating oil tank awaiting a new replacement. Unfortunately it does not work (i.e. does not adhere) with polypropylene or polyethylene tanks as is clearly stated in the packaged instructions with the product, but not on the description provided by Amazon. So it was a bar of hard soap rubbed over the oil tank fracture site whilst we awaited the new tank - this item we'll keep for more suitable repair should the need arise.

Like putty in your hands.
It is a very good product but if I were to add my advice to that of others this is it.I used the product on my heating oil tank which was leaking from a small fissure near the bottom. Typically I had only just had just filled it so needed to stem the oil before effecting the repair. The orange stick included in the pack did not work but using an ordinary bar of household soap instead this stopped the flow sufficient to stop the oil. Then it was a matter of sanding down the plastic surface for a key and then warming the area with hot water drying off with a cloth and using the alcohol wipe the putty was then attached and it is now seven hours since the repair it has set and not a drop more oil has leaked. Whether it is really a long term repair I cannot say but I can now organise a replacement tank when the oil has been used up. PS. The repair held up for weeks after and then I replaced the tank when the oil had run low.

In my experience, It simply does not work!
I purchased and used this product twice on my PE plastic motorcycle tank and despite following the instructions to the letter, it did not work.On the second occasion at considerable time and effort I removed and drained the tank even though they claim this is not necessary . I roughed up and warmed the hole ( which is very small ) as instructed and plugged this three times to be sure. I left it for several days to dry before refilling and as an extra precaution covered the repair with a two part epoxy plastic ( PE ) glue. Both repairs worked initially but gradually the petrol seeps through the material. It just does not seem fit for the intended purpose.I took the bike to Scotland and it ruined the holiday and it was necessary to refuel every sixty miles ( ¼ tank) which was not only annoying on a 600 miles round trip but stressful as I was convinced the bike would self ignite at any given moment on the journey! My tank still leaks and I am very disappointed with this product.I sent an Email to the US owners and they didn't even have the decency to reply. Its a short term fix but don't bother with it.

Does what says
I used this to repair a split in a plastic WC cistern that was damaged in transit. Only applied it to the outside and it worked perfectly. Very easy to use, went hard quite quickly and the instructions were clear. Going to order another to have on hand.
