Nitecore TM12K

I collect tactical lights and this is one of my favorite. I like how it has a display to tell you how much battery is left. Super bright and solid build.

Good but doesn’t make it worth spending so much…

Awesome! I have other flashlights that are waterproof, but this is the best! See my video. This flashlight is compact, dirt proof, waterproof, impact proof. It is very easy to use even with gloves on! I also wanted to mention if you have other Nitecore flashlights, you will see the clip on this it’s Wayyyy Better! You can clip it to a zipper pocket on your cargo pants no problem! This clip is more deep carry than the clips on other Nitecore flashlights.

I LOVE my TM10K, so I was excited when I learned that Nitecore came out with a supposedly improved version, the TM12K. I like square things better than round stuff. I was very disappointed when I found out that it is actually not as bright, not as focused or concentrated, and even yellower than my older TM10K at any setting, even max bright. I didn’t pass judgement until I’d cycled it a few times. Maybe I just got unlucky in the silicone lottery, I don’t know. I hate to say it, but this one has to go back.

This is an excellent light, with multiple useful modes and functions. The main mode can be cycled between 6 ultra low, 100 low, 300 medium, 1000 high lumens. The high level can also be custom programmed in user set levels from 400a up to 2000 lumens. The turbo mode is extremely bright at 12000 lumens, but it only maintains that level for about 10-20 seconds depending on how hot the light is. So the turbo mode is only briefly available. So the turbo mode has limited functional use. Would be great for sweeping and clearing a room in a tactical situation. It is excellent for wowing your friends as well. The light has an informative display that shows what mode and level it is at, battery status, charging status. The light is quite compact, about the size of a new bar of soap. It has a pocket clip and also comes with a canvas belt carrier. While it can be used as such, I feel it is just a bit too big and heavy to be a practical daily EDC light for some. Also it is a bit expensive, is definitely targeted to serious flashlight enthusiasts and collectors such as myself. Overall this is an excellent and very useful illumination tool, and I highly recommend it.

What I like most about this is it's rectangular shape. Fits nice in the pocket, can rest it anywhere without it rolling, and is crazy bright. Definately my go to when out at night

Flashlight is constructed well, fits well in the hand. Functions are good. Problem with it is even with high turned up to 2000 lumens it doesn't have the focus to project the light in a meaningful distance. Everything spills all over, where a single 1000 lumen projector headlight will put this to shame. The 12000 lumen turbo mode is more of a gimmick than anything, lasting less than 10 seconds. Really not worth the price IMO.
