Exelaint for cooking
As some have mentioned, not the easiest to light .I light a little fire then place the bars on so that as the fire collapses the bars are in the correct distance,From the grill .These charcoal rods / bars whatever are incredibly good, they burn for them a long time.I have used them in a Cobb as Cobb s—-s are so stupidly expensiveAs I write this I have a piece of brisket on my Cobb for the next few hours, i guess that those of you who can cook/bbqWill and enjoy these bars / rods of charcoal and make the most of a very very good product.Just use them and understand how they work. Those who can’t don’t bother just get a blowtorch and burn the outside.Oh ! ! but you do that anyway ! Health and safety. They work for me on a offset bbq and a Cobb and give us the flavour etc ,that we are looking forFive starSo Patato wedges after a beef brisket. All on a Cobb (out of the breeze)

Long lasting & burn steady
BBQ coals are hard to get right. These things burn steady and even for a long time, so no worries about your BBQ getting super hot super fast and then dead within 20-minutes.. These things will go for hours.

Used in pizza oven - would have been better if lump sizes were a bit more consistent.
Firstly, I've no idea if my using it was suitable , it went in an Ooni when baking to avoid the temperature dropping too low - I'd hoped this would mean using less of my hardwood kindling, but alas, I ended up using quite a bit still. Some of the lumps were massive, and took a while to light, and whilst I'd buy this agin, I'd opt for the briquette form - nothing stopping me from bashing it into smaller bits, but still.I imagine in a Kamodo or something it's great.

Very good quality charcoal.
I purchased this as a trial as I have started to get into smoking poultry and I noticed my other charcoal was dying out around 2.5hrs. This stuff is great long lasting and less is more.To light it I used a chimney put some natural fire lighters at the bottom and stood them up. They have a hole running through the middle that allows for the oxygen to pass through and they light in around 15 minutes. I had to place them once lit as they are pretty thick and ended up having to reposition then as they were too hot. I am pleased with my purchase and will be buying them again once I run out.

Best BBQ or fire pit fuel - lasts 4 hours
This is the cheaper brand of ogatan charcoal and in my experience works equally well as others based on bamboo and other compacted carbonised woods. This fuel is like marmite - I love it as it has consistent high output for 4 hours, and use it for bbq pizza oven and fire pit. It is easily moved with tongs as solid blocks. They are best lit in a starter cage, and not suited to all…The seller is amazingly responsive to queries in my experience as delivery drivers can drop the heavy boxes a bit, but even if box is battered, the contents are surprisingly resilient. Also, do consider the binchotan charcoal for cooking bbq or yakitori etc - real solid 90% carbonised large wood pieces - very heavy and condensed and all natural - no smoke and cooks at even higher temperature with more IR benefits.

Hard to start
After it’s lit, it burns for hours, but it also take hours to start. We used all methods, and after a whole pack of fire starters it worked. If you don’t have a lot of experience with grills this isn’t for you

Great!
This product has transformed BBQ’s. True it is slightly more expensive than some others but the quality is excellent with consistent heat and very long burn. Will definitely buy more when my first box is finished! Thoroughly recommend .

absolute rubbish
bricks did not light despite two rounds of firelighters. Possibly ok once a burn is going but a total waste of money other then that.
