Sanctuary The Complete Series (Region 2 Import)

I bought this, sight unseen, purely on the basis that Amanda Tapping was the lead actor and Damian Kinder's premise, 'abnormals, mutants, living among us sounded intriguing and, possibly, fruitful. I was not disappointed. That all four seasons were filmed entirely on 'green screen', I did not learn until later via the 'extras' on the DVDs. The technology had certainly moved on a bit from the days of 'Babylon 5'. This only heightened my appreciation of the acting skills of those involved.This is very much an 'ensemble' piece, although characters weave in and out as the plot over four seasons develops. Christopher Heyerdahl is superb as both 'Jack the Ripper' and the 'Neanderthal' 'manservant' but the revelation is Jonothan Young as the vampiric Nicola Tesla; he steals every scene in which he appears.If you like your sci-fi untinged by arrant nonsense then this is to be heartedly recommended.

Sanctuary is a brilliant show with a good story line and it has Amanda tapping into

All discs played fine, had to keep turning off the subtitles at the start of each disc but that was no problem.Only thing i didn't like was having discs stacked on top of each other, i see no need for that when there is boxes available to hold 4 discs seperately.

Really enjoyed watching it and enjoyed the extras.

Discs played perfectly. Great fun. Special effects and scenery cheesy but you forget about this as the storylines and script are engaging, fun and interesting.

I'd forgotten how wonderful this series was. Picture quality and sound are perfect. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that getting rid of subtitles on one disc was hard work, but I managed in the end.
