Folk Art Medium (2-Ounce), 794 Textile

You only need a couple of drips with a tiny blob of watercolour paint and a tiny bit of water. This worked really well as I wanted a translucent type of finish. The BFG was my first attempt at fabric painting but I was suprised at how easy it is. I used greaseproof paper behind it and left it 24 hours after painting before ironing (still with paper behind and a cotton scrap between iron and painting). I have also painted on a cotton rag to test of it will stay on... I washed and soaked it and even scrubbed it a bit and the colour still remained! Yey! 😀

This was bought for me as a present - at my request. I hadn't realised it was from the US - which explains why it took a while to arrive! I used it to set water colour pencils to make them colourfast on fabric.

Good place to buy it from. I water it down and use it to set Inktense pencils after they have been wetted and then dried. I haven't read the instructions, but what works for me, is this. I let it dy naturally, the longer I leave it the better, then I heat set from the back.

Bought this medium to paint over a denim jacket along with Setacolour paint.I must say I have never used mediums before and always used the paint straight into the fabric... Now I do understand why you need a medium before going straight with paint only and even-though you can't see any difference at first, you will be able to tell in time.Definitely the way to go if you want your designs to last.

Used it to mix with acrylics to paint on fabric with, it is a very runny white liquid, but does not affect the colour of the paint at all, beware it does come from the USA but I am in the UK and it didn't take very long to turn up! Recommended 100% from me.

Works well so far and goes quite far

The liquid inside the bottle works well and is what I expected, however the bottle leaked in the post and the solution washed off the label. Have kept the bottle because it was more than half full.

J'ai rénové une ancienne méridienne en utilisant ce médium pour tissus à diluer avec une peinture acrylique, il faut bien préparer le support, humidifier le tissus et surtout avoir une peinture très fluide... Je recommande... Ps prendre son temps, il faut 2 couches avec la préparation il faut 4 jours pour que le tissus soit vraiment sec... Ma petite note perso, j'ai bombé en final avec un impermealisant pour éviter les taches.

He pintado sobre tela con acrílico y este medium. En principio parece que cumple su misión, pintura fluida y con agarre. Pero no he lavado la tela ya pintada, así que por ahora no puedo opinar sobre si destiñe o no. Probaré en prenda de vestir y ya os cuento.

It makes your acrylic paint more resistant to water washing of the textile piece. You can even wash it in the washing machine on the delicate cycle as well as put it to dry. It makes it versatile so you don't have to buy all the acrylic paints for textiles if you don't just do that type of art and so you can buy your regular acrylics and that's it.
