Tunturi Unisex Cardio Fit R30 Folding Rowing Machine, Dark Grey/Green

Having spent years long distance running (as my exercise of choice)....then years doing little, using being a new parent as an excuse, I decided rowing to be a good all around exercise to take up. I decided that having a machine at home would give me better flexibility than the gym. All I wanted was a decent quality machine, with different resistance settings that also wouldn't also take up lots of space. This fits the bill nicely. Well built, smooth pull action and easy to assemble. My only complaint.....the copy on the website states all the measurable settings..ie, strokes count, time, calorie count, distance......except it doesn't measure distance. When you reset the display for a new session, everything lights up and you can see it on the display for a brief second. However, it cannot be selected and the instructions reference that only count, calories, time and total count are setting options. Not the end of the world, but I was actively looking for this as an option so I can set myself distance targets.

I ordered this item on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday so quick shipping and arrived without damage. The machine was easy to set up with clearly labelled instructions. I don't go to the gym and I do very little working out so my expectations wasn't for a gym style, high resistance rowing machine but something that gave a little resistance. My previous rowing machine was a York fitness with 7 settings and the highest setting gave good resistance. However, this Marcy rowing machine, with it's 8 levels of resistance proved effortless even on the highest setting. This may be a fault with the machine I've received but based on this experience I would only recommend the machine to someone who may have a disability or is just looking for something to provide the rowing style motion.I've been rowing in a boat and this resistance of this machine is less than a 10th of real life rowing. I am planning to try and different make as I'm sure there are machines out there with higher resistance and probably at half the price.

The product seems good overall, but I was a bit annoyed that despite the description saying the computer measures distance, it does not. This was quite an important feature for me, so am disappointed to have been misled by the description.One part was damaged - I will contact the company and update this review in due course once this has been resolved.

The product has started to malfunction after 3.5 months . It is slipping when I use it . The gear ? is locking up & suddenly releasing allowing about 6" of the tape to suddenly release . I'd expect a product that costs this much to last longer than 3.5 months !!

Box was a bit heavier than I thought so definitely a 2 person job to lift it. Probably took me an hour to put the rower together, it was relatively straight forward to do following the instructions. Been using it every day for 3 weeks now & very impressed. Just as good as the ones I used to use at the gym. Easy timer to use although there is no inbuilt heart rate monitor which I already knew. I therefore bought a separate heart rate monitor in advance for £30 which does the job. Would definitely recommend.

the machine is perfect but for my requirements I find it too low to get on and off as I have a hip problem.I will have to fashion some blocks to lift it up.

Set up was not to hard at all and everything was laid out in the packaging easily to be found and used. Smooth rowing and a good bit of kit, perfect to use to get your fitness levels up and also work on getting toned. Myself and my fiancé both use it and she has said too that it is really good. Very quiet and smooth. Would highly recommend.

Excellent machine, very good price. Delivery as promised. unfortunately had slight damage. but usable.
