Troubleshooting and Repairing Diesel Engines 4th Edition

This is a wonderful manual for the talented person who can troubleshoot and repair these engines. It is very detailed and I was very pleased to give this as a gift to one who knows and wants to learn more in this area.I was very pleased with the format of the book!

I found the book to be a good general and at some intervals specific account of the theory of Diesel engines and the maintenance of said engines. For such a broad subject, the author narrowed it down to comfortable reading.

Great book, starts with history, then Theory, touches heavily on Marine applications. Great troubleshooting sections. It teaches fundamentals by highlight the Specifics for common engines, their various fuel delivery systems, different turbos, various electronics, gets into those Little Idiosyncrasies like peekaboo head bolts, the fact that there’s a different set of specs for a non-turbo vs turbo , basically what I’m saying is that even though it doesn’t give you all the answers to everything. it teaches you to how to ask the right questions for what ever engine your looking at.

My son requested this as a gift. He is a diesel mechanic with three years experience working on heavy equipment. He wanted to brush up on diesel engines as it has been a while since he has worked on one. He was really pleased with the content.

This book provided me the details I needed beyond a general idea of how diesel engines function.I recently purchased a 2006 Ford 250 PowerStroke 6.0L diesel truck. This book gave me info that will allow me to better maintain and do minor service to the engine.It does provide more detailed troubleshooting techniques for the more advanced diesel engine mechanic.

This book gives plenty of information. It has helped me a great deal at work in my career as a diesel technician. This book gives more than enough info and after reading has made me very knowledgeable in the operation and how it works aspect of all automotive systems included in the diesel mechanic side of the automotive industry.

I’m just learning how Diesel engines work. They are fascinating. So far this book is s great read.

Very technicnall, very good information, the only downside are the pictures arent very clear, but otherwise its a good guide for diesel engines
