MaraSeaweed Dulse Flakes Tin 30g

Great for a salty touch without the inconvenience of rocky salt
I love the taste, really clean, this goes perfect as a sprinkle on your already served dish, but forget about doing any cooking with it, as the container and amount in it is just very little, so I am giving it a 4 star out of five, do to the price for so little amount, it is kind of tiny (30g) for 6.95 pounds. I like the taste if it in combination with Sumac 150 g salt free

Great to be able to buy in bulk
I use this dulse every day, either on salad or hidden in smoothies / soup as it's a great source of iodine, so I'm really pleased to find it in a large tub. The only disappointing thing is the plastic container used - I realise it's probably cheaper to manufacture but it would be great to have something more environmentally friendly like a glass jar.

Excellent value
I scatter the flakes on anything savory and find they add just a touch more flavor. I've been using these dulse flakes for years and have no intention of stopping buying them until my ashes are blowing in the wind on my favorite mountain.

ok if you like this flavour, I discovered I didn’t
I am sure others will like this but the flavour wasn’t for me. I was also put off by tiny bits of grit which seemed to be in every mouthful and not at all pleasant for your teeth. Perhaps they were grains of sand, who knows, but I only tried 3 helpings then gave up and threw it out.

Full of hard bits of shell that break teeth!
I have bought this make of dulse a lot in the past and used to recommend it to everyone, but my most recent purchase has been extremely disappointing and I will have to find a new brand. I use the dulse in my cooking to ensure my family are getting enough iodine, given that we are plant based and in the past I have had no problems. However, with this latest purchase there have been hard grainy bits in my food and my Mum even cracked one of her teeth. I found a sharp 5mm piece of shell today in a pesto that I had made to which I had added dulse. After investigating the ingredients I narrowed the culprit down to the dulse.I poured out the dulse from the tin and found lots of pieces of shell ranging from tiny sand grain pieces to bigger 5 - 7mm pieces. I would not recommend this brand to anyone anymore and would advise people who are using it to watch their teeth, as well as any damage it may do by cutting their mouths.

Excellent quality and flavour dulse
I bought this a few months ago after hours of research and it is absolutely fab! It's got a great taste--I've used it as a seasoning in home-made bone broth as well as over salads and cooked veg (even one of my young adult sons likes it in soup). It's a small pack and the flakes are tiny, but it goes a very long way because you don't need much seaweed in your diet: stick to very small amounts. If I use dulse, I only use about half to one tsp per day max and probably only up to 3 times per week.
