Does the job intended, just annoying you need this on top of an already expensive arm.
The pivot mount does what it says on the tin and helps hold up some of the more heavy monitors out there. I personally bought it at about £70 for my Samsung Odyssey G9 (49" Super Ultrawide). It's worked wonders for the problem at hand. I do wish I'd tried the regular pivot mount that came with the Ergotron Monitor Arm before purchasing this, as I'm fairly sure if you tightened up the tension a bit on that, it'd work, maybe not as well, but it might do the trick. However I can't confirm that as I bought this immediately at the same time. It's a little bit annoying that this mount doesn't just come with the monitor mount given the price of each item, but unfortunately that's not the case and will not allow it to impact the review given it's definitely fit for purpose and I've had no issues with it.

Probably the best off-the-shelf option
Solidly built. I already had a Ergotron arm so I knew to expect the same industrial-robot type sturdy design. If you try to hold a monitor or laptop on the end of a 60cm long lever by the end of the lever you appreciate the need for strong materials. This was easily installed on an lx arm. The plate from the arm extends a bit beyond the plate on the tray, which doesn’t look as good as it could but it doesn’t interfere with the function. It holds the laptop well. For a modest investment I now have effectively both a standing desk and a way to display my laptop and external display side by side. This is welcome under current work-from-home conditions! For scale, the images show a 13 inch laptop, 24 inch monitor, and two lx arms with the normal length pole.

Brilliant product. Now I can sit at either end of the table
This extension arm has enabled to sit at whatever end of the table I want. I can now just swing into positin.. i have a 27 inch screen and there is no problem with the arm dropping etc. Great price and a great product.

Ideal for Odyssey G9 ... BUT!
The 4-Star rating is purely for the product itself - which does exactly what it's supposed to do.As an addition to the matching monitor arm, this pivot is strong enough to support the front-heavy weight of the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor. The only reason this is 4-Star is because you have to buy it as an additional item - which means the original pivot is wasted material. It would make more sense for the with the option of either standard or heavy-duty pivot.A word of advice/warning to anyone buying this pivot for the G9 monitor. My arm and pivot were delivered together, and I installed the Heavy Duty Pivot straight away - but the monitor still sagged forward, even at the tightest setting. After a quick look online, I found that others had experienced this issue - and that the reason was that they had been sent a standard pivot in a re-sealed Heavy Duty box.Checking the advice I read, it was apparent that the same had occurred for my order - which I presume is because a previous customer had bought both arm and pivot, swapped out the heavy duty pivot, and returned the standard one for a refund. I have now had to get a replacement pivot, remove the previous one, and re-fit. So if you are looking at buying/fitting this, please take the time to check your 'Heavy-Duty' Pivot before installing. In case this helps anyone, here's what to look for:The Heavy Duty pivot will have 8 spring-coils either side - the standard has 9 coils. The Heavy Duty will have a product/serial label on it - the standard does not.Although they look similar, the Heavy Duty is aligned differently (which thankfully makes it a lot easier to install).I've attached images which hopefully show the difference - my original in both cases is the black one, with the incorrect/correct pivots next to it as a comparison.

Supports the Samsung G9 Odyssey
If you are an owner of a Samsung G9 Odyssey and you want to attach the beast to an arm, you need this. It is eye-watering expensive for what it is and oddly, Amazon is charging nearly double of what it costs elsewhere but ultimately, it is worth it.

Almost there, better than just over-tightening other arms.
Wish they'd copied the geometry of the hinge and actual shape of the mounting plate off the crazy Samsung monitors these are intended for as like any arm that tries to use a standard vesa mount the hinge position is still about 5cm further away from where it is on the standard desk stand the monitor came with so same as my previous arm I still had to tighten the spring from how it came to stop it drooping. In the end however I found the height of the arm too short and the weight it can lift lacking the ability to hold the 50 tonnes these radar dish monitors weigh so just went back to my previous arm but tightened it with a breaker bar this time. I should probably just weld that to be sure.

Must have for 49inches of monitor
I had to get my head around the price for just the pivot! But then when you think a 49inch tv weighs > 19kgs you need something thats obviously quality. This is amazing slots into the HX arms with ease - tighten the screws and done! Actually was too strong for the monitor i had to loosen the tension! Must have hands down to complete what is obviously going to be a boss set up

Just what we needed
If you need to extend your mount this is the part you need. Works well!

Two monitors one arm!
Not that it should be a surprise, the arm was identical to the one that came with the arm itself.

Necessary for an ultra wide monitor
The pivot works great and the installation is very simple. It’s difficult to buy this part by itself now, so be aware that ergotron sells the same arm kit but with the HD HX pivot already included. Get that one instead of having to buy a second piece.

High Quality Equipment
Yes, I was able to mount it on an Ergotron TX desk with some modifications. Before I attempted, I talked with their support desk (very helful), and they explained that it wasn't recommended as being too heavy and the desk might tip. While I was concerned with the weight, there was no way the desk would tip, so I proceeded with the installation, which included a HX arm.Modifications:-Drilled through the steel plate in the desk to accomodate the stud mount included with the HX arm-Replaced the wing nut with a standard hex nut-Used a dremmel tool to cut the 6" stud in order to clear the desk's hardware when loweringResult:-The desk is significantly heavier with 3 23" monitor, however, I am able to raise it without too much effort-The desk is stable and I am able to articulate the arm without a problemFinal comments:Quality, adjustability, and customer service are excellent. I had to spend a lot of time to figure out what arm was needed for this monitor system. It would be really handy if Ergotron suggested the correct related product on their website. While the installation went well, I am concerned that in the long term, the weight of the monitors on the arm will warp the TX desktop. I've put a tape dispenser under the 'handle' used articulate the system to support some of the weight and prevent some the bounce of the monitors when typing.
