Ease of installation and use.
Very quick to register cats ‘microchip’ numbers, easy to install, easy to keep clean. In a nutshell- does what it says on the box! Would recommend.

The cats are using it
This was to replace an ordinary old cat flap as our new cats are inviting their friends in. I got this make to match the previous make hoping the screw holes would match. This was not the case so I had to drill ne extra hole. However it now fits OK. I tested it with the cats before fully installing and it learnt their chips. So I then installed it but left it off for a couple of days. Even without the lock it is a noisy device compared to the last one and when I switched it on it is even noisier. This is not really a problem as I like to know when the cats are in. So I am happy with it.

Took a while
After we installed this I must say it did take my 1 year old cat a few days to get the just of it but now he uses this with no issues, from outside the door unlocks after chip recognition we can happily leave him alone for the day with no worries. Good value for money

Microchip cat flap
Cat will go out of it quite happily, but on the way back will not come back through because it clicks when it reads the chip and it scares her so from our point of view pretty useless

Don’t bother with this
Cat flap doesn’t work for one of my cats. He’s not particularly big but despite standing with his head fully in the cat flap and nose up against the flap, it doesn’t recognise his chip (chip isn’t faulty as I can get it to recognise if I hold him a certain way).Battery life is beyond terrible. Batteries run out every c2 weeks!! Have used 2 different brands and still run out so quickly. For the cat where the cat flap does work, he has to stand there for what seems like an age for it to recognise his chip and then let him in.I also found that the flap sometimes catches on the latch. This has meant that an intruder cat has managed to still get in to my house after following the cat (the one that can get in!). Therefore it doesn’t allow actual cat in but does allow intruder cat in.

So far so good !
So far so good !! , after a rogue cat kept constantly entering our house through our previous cat flap and causing my own two cats such stress I decided to try a micro chip cat flap . I was a bit dubious as some of the reviews for this weren't great but so far it's been fab and has stopped the rogue cat from entering our house since . I have two cats and have successfully programmed both their micro chips in to this new cat flap , I tried initially by placing some ham in the cat flap to try and entice them to put their head in the cat flap but I didn't succeed ! In the end my husband held the cat flap and I lifted my cats head in to it , it quickly then registers their chips . Once this process is done it will then only allow the cats who's chips are registered through the cat flap . You can put this cat flap in to manual mode if you wish which is an added bonus if for what ever reson you initially struggle to get it to read your cats chip . It took my cats a couple of attempts to successfully use it and get used to it but now they are fine , as they put their head in to the cat flap it clicks as it reads their chip then after the click it will open . It fit in the hole of our previous cat flap perfectly no adjustments were needed thankfully .

Works well
Bought to stop random cats coming through the cat flap pinching food 😂Easy to fit, the tunnel part is quite long and can't be cut down but not an issue for me.Hardest part was retraining the cats to use it, I can only assume it was down to the length of the tunnel and maybe the clicking (which is not excessive) but they eventually got the hang of it 👍
