Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late. The film stars Dacre Montgomery (A Few Less Men) as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott (The 33) as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G (Empire) as Trini the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt) as Zack the Black Ranger, Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, The Hunger Games franchise) as Rita Repulsa, Bryan Cranston (Godzilla, Breaking Bad) as Zordon and Bill Hader (Trainwreck, The BFG) as Alpha 5. Review: Great film from my childhood era - I grew up with Power Rangers and looking back at the TV show now that was made in the 90s, it looks naff. I was very pleased that they decided to remake it. The trailer was awesome and I soon decided that I really wanted to watch this. A bunch of teenagers who were in the right place at the right time and vaguely knew each other, discovered the stones and were chosen as Power Rangers to stop the evil Rita! Well this film was so much better than the 90s, however I do think some of the effects could have been better with the technology today but the film is good. They have kept the same characters names from the 90s show, therefore those who have grown up with Power Ranger can easily identify. The film was a bit of a slow burner, it took it's time to develop the story line but without this the film would have been rubbish. This happens with the marvel films normally the first one but it essential to the storyline. I can only assume that the next one will be action packed. I really enjoyed this film, it was great to see my childhood being brought to life and to actually see a film done well. We learn bits about each character, their families and school life and watch them develop into great friends. We watch them learn how to morh and connect - without trying to give too much away. The actor who played Jason reminds me of a young Chris Pine, therefore I think he will have a great career. All the other actors are just as good and the casting was done well. I'm very much looking forward to the next one - fingers crossed they make a sequel :) Review: Very good film - Very good film 👍🏻

Enjoyed by me and my son
Ok so I watched the original power rangers series and movies, well the first 5 or so years of them anyway. I was excited to see the trailer for this when I was at the cinema seeing something else. I originally planned to take my son to see this but it was a 12 rather than 12A so I couldn't so we waited for the DVD and digital release. It's actually very good. There was a moment where I did think "come on why aren't you actual power rangers yet" but I think the intention of this film was the original story for these rangers. It's also the first superhero type movie that I've seen to include not only different races and genders but also autistism and LGBT+ references which is fantastic. It's definitely a film worth watching and I hope they make a sequel. Apparently the sequel is potentially not happening due to the box office disappointing figures. However I think the problem is that power rangers has always been mainly a children's thing (adults too but mainly children) and at a 12 rating it meant a lot of parents weren't taking their children to see it. My son is 9 and loved it, I think with a few very minor tweaks to the film they could've got the ratings down to a 12A and that would've secured them a larger box office audience because parents could take their 6-11 year olds to see it which lets face it are often the sort of age most into things like power rangers.

Slow but not bad
Not a bad film, just pretty slow build up and teenage drama but it's not at all a terrible movie, had good action and good effects. Don't go into this expecting Power Rangers on screen most of the time, because it's more them rising to becoming the Power Rangers and some may find that boring, especially if you're a kid wanting to see a lot more fighting and explosive action. You get to see them use their powers a fair amount throughout the film, but many will be thinking "Great, now let me see the Power Rangers!!" I got a little bored with just seeing these characters talking, but it's more about getting to know them. Decent enough movie, but should have been called something like Rise of the Power Rangers, people would kind of know what to expect. I enjoyed this film for what it was and it all came together nicely in the end with a really cool action fight sequence.

Great for younger viewers
My 5 year old has enjoyed watching this a few times. It’s very simple with an easy story line to follow. The fighting is kept clean and not gory at all so was great to watch with him.

Divertimento puro.
