Excellent Upgrade from Cheap Meters
I I purchased the Apera PH20 for testing my aquarium water parameters, and it has been flawless. The key features that won me over are: • German Sensor & Accuracy: Precise, consistent readings crucial for sensitive aquarium livestock • Easy 3-Point Calibration: Simple process with all solutions included (pH 4, 7, 10) • All-in-One Kit: Robust case protects everything neatly • Transparency Code: Provided instant authenticity verification • Excellent Durability: Survived multiple drops and shows no wear after months of use • Reliable Functionality: Quick readings, automatic temperature compensation, and stable results It's a professional-grade instrument made accessible for the home user. Highly recommended.

Great pH meter
I've had this since 2020 and it has been fabulous with my cosmetic products. Accurate readings, easy to calibrate, always ready when i need it. One thing to keep in mind is the difficulty of cleaning the probe, especially when you test more viscous products. I thoroughly clean mine, at least I thought i did, until recently it has grown mould around some of the casing. Off to get a new one. Apart from that, great value for money, fantastic piece of kit for your lab.

Great PH pen, can’t go wrong
Much much better than the cheap PH pens that you can get in different colours. Reading is quick and indicated by a smiley face. Comes with two buffer solutions (pre-made) and calibration in straight forward. I gently heated the buffer solution to near 25 degrees to get an accurate calibration but I don’t think it was necessary. Instructions could be better but no issue in understanding them. To take a reading, switch on and dip the pen into the solution, gentle stir and wait for smiley face (appears in about 3-5s) and read the number from the screen, that’s the PH. Clean probe with distilled or deionised water afterwards. I find for reading lower PH values, in my case 6.1, the readings too a little longer to settle, maybe 5-7s. Still not an issue but for that I knocked off 1 star for accuracy. I store the pen with a few drops of tap water to keep the probe from drying out. You can get KCI solution instead and use that to store the pen but it’s mega expensive. Same with the buffer solution. It’s also a shame they don’t supply you with the PH 10 buffer solution. But for my purposes I don’t need an accurate reading much above 7, though it would of been handy. To calibrate press and hold the Cal button and dip into PH 7 solution, gentle stir and let the reading stabilise. Press Cal button again. Clean with distilled water and repeat for PH 4 solution. You are now calibrated. I use deionised water from Halfords £3.50 for 5l, Cheaper and easier to get hold of than distilled water. Personally i dip the pen straight into buffer solution in the bottle making sure probe is cleaned with deionised water and dabbed dry with tissue first. The amount I use the pen and the amount I need to recalibrate means it be silly for me to pour the buffer solution into another bottle and throw away afterwards. A pair of PH buffer solution is extremely overpriced, you may as well get a new pen. For that I knocked of one star. Overall I think you can’t get wrong with this pen and with items like this you really do get what you pay for. Ignore the cheap pens if you want a reliable PH reading. I’ve used the cheap pens and always had doubt whether the reading was correct.

Well made and precise pH meter
I've bought a few pH meters for testing my hydroponic solutions over the years. I've had perhaps 4 of the cheaper ones and they've tended to either come broken (e.g. leaked batteries in them) or break within a year, and some have had terrible precision and/or accuracy. For the above reasons I decided to spend a bit more this time and I've been using this for a few months now and am not only confident with the readings it gives me but am also confident that it'll last for years, so am very happy with the extra money I spent to get this meter.

Terrible unit for the price
I have used this unit for a year and a half, well for some of that time, and resigned myself to the fact that its junk. I think my first and last Apera purchase. I use it for checking the PH of Shrimp tanks and the unit reads 0.3 difference when placed in the same tank of water in successive minutes. Its just plan pants and something for less than $10 would be better.

Excellent for the price.
Purchased this after trying a Hanna one. The Hanna was terrible. Readings constantly changing. No case or calibration fluids included either. Worse it was 3 times the price of this one. This until comes with case fluids and is very easy to use. Feels sturdier than the Hanna and better made. So far accuracy is good. But longer term use will show for sure. Well worth trying.

Good product, but cap leaks
Really good product, way better than the 2x cheap ones I had prior. Functionality is great and feels very durable. Easy to calibrate for accuracy. I have one issue, I store it in a KPl solution between uses and fill the KPl solution to the fill line within the cap after use, however, when I open the kit back up again to use it, there is no more KPl solution inside the cap as it has all leaked out! It has a rubber seal around the cap but for some reason it leaks still and goes all over the inside of the case. I line the foam in the case with toilet paper after each use to soak it up, but it’s soon going to cost me a fortune in KPl solution.

¡Salud! 🍻

I love this meter. It’s easy to calibrate. The readings are fast and accurate. It reaches a conclusion quickly and will hold the reading after being removed from the solution. The small refillable jars for calibration solutions make this a great little kit. Perfect for the lab or home enthusiast.
