It did the job!
I had been wanting to dye my hair jet black for a while, so I decided that whenever that may be, my choice of dye was definitely going to be Manic Panic. They’re a trusted brand of mine, and so when I saw a lot of negative reviews about the Manic Panic “Raven,” I was really surprised and then became nervous and skeptic to use it as I’d already purchased the dye.I was really hoping it wouldn’t turn my hair green as some people said, as well as not turning it black at all.Though, to my surprise, the dye did it’s job and turned my hair jet black from first use! Here’s some information worth knowing:MY ORIGINAL HAIR TO BEGIN WITH:Prior to dyeing my hair, I had dark brown roots and a level 7 blonde that had been dyed purple using “Violet Night” by Manic Panic.MY METHOD:A lot of dark haired people complained that “Raven” didn’t turn their dark hair to black. Due to this, since I had some remaining “Violet Night,” I applied that to my dark brown roots which toned it jet black. As for the purple, I applied the “Raven” on this section of the hair.WASHING:I’d forgotten to wash my hair beforehand (not to wash out the purple, but to clean it) so I ended up using shampoo on my hair when rinsing the dye in my hair.I was really thinking it’d cause the colour to wash out - but it didn’t! I couldn’t believe it, the pigmentation of the black was still excellent even after scrubbing with shampoo and rinsing with water! I couldn’t be more impressed. Not only is my hair jet black, but very soft as well - the dye helped to condition my hair nicely.MY ADVICE:Don’t listen to the directions - DO NOT use it on blonde hair that has not been coloured purple/any red toned colour. Reason being is that the yellow tones in the blonde will homogenise with the black causing a green fade. However, since red toned colours like purple cancel out green, you will result in having the black hair you hope to achieve! Also, for those who are dark-brown haired, I would advise that if you are hoping to achieve black hair, go for“Violet Night” as it will cancel out the warm tones which make your hair brown and leave you with black hair.Hope I helped.

Really love the colour
Only problem is that it never looks bright after first hair wash

Everything is red
Fantastic on my hair, definately dyed it red, very vibrant and lasts quite a while. However, no matter how much I washed it out, it stained everything, my neck was red for a good couple of weeks until it had finally washed out enough to stop, my pillow turned red, dark grey towels now have a red tinge, anything that touched my hair would turn red.I've been dying part of my hair red for a good 6 to 8 months using directions or colour freedom, and have been dying my hair all sorts of colours for over 10 years, and never experienced anything like the level of staining and leaking than I have with this dye.

Bit disappointed
It does brighten my red hair up, but don’t think it’s really worth the money

Vibrant at first but soon looses colour.
I am allergic to ppd and harsh chemicals in hair dye so been able to use all of the Manic panic hair dyes is a massive advantage to me as they are natural dyes. They all seem to be vibrant at first but soon loose colour after 3 week especially this one so bare that in mind before purchasing.
