Solid pedal
Good quality. Does exactly as it says on the tin. Solidly made with useful rubber pull out foot pad.

Fabulous, possibly the best sustain pedal I've used
Bought this for a Roland digital piano. One of the 2 great features of the DP-10 is that it support half pedalling. Instead of an on-off switch, there's actually a variable resistor inside the DP-10, meaning the pedal generates a continously variable output. It also means the pedal is silent, no annoying microswitch clicks when you depress it. On the side of the pedal is a switch that selects either switched or continuous mode. There's also a hex screw on the top which I assume is to adjust the travel, but I haven't changed it. The pedal cable is terminated in a stereo 1/4 inch jack plug.I mentioned there were 2 great features. The other is a life saver if you've experienced the joys of chasing a damper pedal around the floor with your foot whilst playing! Attached the bottom of the DP-10 is a hard rubber strip which can be rotated to create a projecting heel rest in front of the pedal. This genius idea ensures the pedal doesn't move on the floor and it works well, especially on carpet.Great quality pedal and recommended for Roland keyboards. However sadly this doesn't work correctly on Nord keyboards as the sustain action is inverted.

Great, got it working as both a...
At first I just thought it would be a sustain pedal then found a switch on the side for full analogue capabilities for how much it is pressed down. So I instantly plugged it into my expression pedal socket on my midi controller (arturia) and it worked great, I actually like that it springs back, but even better with bitwig and I'm sure you can in many various other ways I can just map the expression pedal cc to the sustain cc and it works perfectly without needing to unplug it all the time.Build quality: Feels good, feels sturdyCable length: Adequate, should be enough for most people, but not all.Would I recommend it? Yes.

Oh yeah.
A pedal with the mettle, it seems built to last and then some, with a 'half-closed' setting that feels much more like a piano than many pedals. Not the cheapest, but I do feel that one gets what one pays for here.Although people with big feet might find the rubber strip somewhat short, it is an excellent idea and it works for me.

Sheer, Sturdy, Value for Money
Whatever that means.I needed a piano damper pedal. This is a piano damper pedal.I wanted one that could do half pedal. This can do half pedal.I REALLY wanted one that didn't make insane amounts of noise, and this one is SILENT.It has two modes, you get the continuous (which is what I wanted) and also standard on/off switch type. It's very sturdy, weighs double my old pedal (which was NOISY, not just when hitting the deck or being released, but in the up and down travel between too) and is very quiet in operation. If you don't slam it down or jump back off of it, the actual movement is completely silent. This is SUCH a relief, no one wants to play piano and have a crazy loud sound, I've never played an actual piano where the pedal itself made so much noise I could hear it, only the sound of the dampers moving. It outputs it's values from 0-127 very smoothly and is great in software that supports continuous damper pedals and doesn't move around the floor even if operated with bare feet (my last one used to crawl closer and closer to me when barefoot, must have sticky feets) thanks to the large rubber pad underneath that you swing around to extend in front of it which your foot then anchors in place. The only two downsides, and the reason I gave it four stars, are for barefoot operation. Firstly, because it's not shaped like a traditional piano pedal, it's not comfortable on the foot (it's narrow, and although rounded edged, still very square and gets between the pad of your foot and your toes in a way that a proper pedal shape just doesn't). Worse is that it absolutely it perfectly shaped to be able to pinch your flesh if depressed fully. Not all the time, but I've definitely been caught several times. The old pedal never did that, because of the bevelled shape around the base didn't allow skin to get pinched. The Roland is VERY squared off.Other than that, great solid, pedal with a really nice (and quiet!) action. Definitely recommend.

It's a YES from me
£40 seemed expensive, but I had 3 pedals that didnt work...2 heavy M-Audio ones and a Yamaha.... it turns out 9when i took them apart to repair them) they dont use a microswitch but a carbonised pad against a track on a circuitbaord - the same apprach as for a button on a remote control tv - completely unsuitable for a piano pedal... I thre the lot out. This one works well and will lastIt's also progressive. apparently. I havent been able to notice that yet

Worth it.
If you are debating between this and the cheaper M-Audio SP-2, spend the extra money and get the Roland. I own both, and the difference is night and day.The DP-10 offers resistance that genuinely feels like an acoustic piano. By comparison, the SP-2 feels too firm and toy-like. The continuous detection (half-pedaling) also unlocks the full expression of the piano engine of my Roland FP-30X Digital Piano, the SP-2 is just a binary on/off switch - if you have a digital piano/keyboard which is capable of half pedaling, the DP-10 is a must (FYI there is a switch which lets you toggle between continous and switch mode, so it does work with keyboards that don't support half-pdedaling). The retractable rubber heel plate is a great addition too, it prevents the pedal from sliding away from you while playing - a constant annoyance I had with the SP-2. While the regular price (~£50) is steep, especially compared to the SP-2, the feel and build quality make it worth it. If you find it on sale (as it is during the time of writing), it’s a no-brainer.
