Perfect fit
I’m surprised to find an exact replacement. Perfect fit easy install. Went without for a long time, didn’t think I would be able to find replacement. Don’t know brand name just matched by looking at old part.

Does not stay vertical when. Pump not running.
Either there is a leak or the air pocket is not large enough because it should default to staying vertical And let the pressure of the water push it down unfortunately it stays horizontal and does not do anything to keep debris from floating back out into the pool. Do not recommend

Exact replacement part needed
My pool service company foolishly replaced an original weir like this one with a spring loaded one that would block water flow. This one was the exact match replacement I needed. Install is a bit difficult without a tiny screwdriver, but that's no knock on the product. So far it's working perfectly!

Exact replacement
The weir on our pool skimmer kept sticking closed, which caused the skimmer sump to run dry. That's not good for the pump! I discovered that one side of the weir hinge had broken. I found this replacement and it's an exact fit for our Sta-Rite skimmer, although I think other brands are of a similar enough design. So, the reason the hinge broke was that the guys who grouted the tile around the skimmer throat covered the weir hinge flange with grout! Ironically, there's a warning sign on the weir: DO NOT GROUT HERE!! Over time, the friction of grout against plastic wore through a hinge pin. Here's a tip if you find yourself in the same situation. You'll probably find it pretty difficult to get at the weir since it's under a section of the pool deck between the pool and skimmer sump. You'll either be reaching in from the sump side, or the throat side, to get at the weir. Since my weir hinge flange screws were covered with grout I had to find a way to break that out before I could get to the screws. The grout isn't a structural issue, it's just sloppy grout work. You'll find you won't be able to get into the weir with anything like a hammer and chisel, there just isn't enough room. Eventually, I thought of my spring loaded Center Punch, also called an Automatic Center Punch (see photo). If you're not familiar, this is like a regular center punch but you press down and it "strikes" as if you hit the punch with a hammer. You can get one at any hardware store. Harbor Freight's is like 4 bucks. So, reaching through from the sump side, I pressed the punch down on the grout I wanted to remove and, bit by bit, I got it broken out. Kinda like a little jack hammer! Then it was simply a matter of removing the hinge flange screws and replacing them along with the new weir. Because of the confined work area, you'll need either a stubby screwdriver (should be Phillips screws) or an offset screwdriver. Make sure the new screws (if included) are stainless steel like the old ones should be, otherwise, re-use the old ones. Oh, and make sure you collect all the bits of grout that you can. It's abrasive, so it could damage the pump. I put duct tape across the skimmer throat so nothing got out that way. Also, after I was done I disassembled my auto-punch so it could dry out. I was pretty proud of my auto-center-punch idea. I hope it helps you, too!
