BECKONED, Part 4: From Barcelona with Love Paperback – November 29, 2017

Beckoned part 4: From Barcelona with Love by Aviva Vaughn is the fourth part in her Beckoned series and what an amazing finale! In all fair warning, the only way to truly be able to appreciate this book is to read all four books in order: From Love with Love, From Bath with Love, From Los Angeles with Love and finally From Barcelona with Love. Continuing the story of Soren and Angela’s journey of love, we meet up with our lovers again in Barcelona this time. When we as the reader are starting to think these two are going to make a real go of a relationship in the same city, Kieran plants himself into Angela’s life and attempts to stand in the way of her and Soren making the long distance relationship continue to work. The more that Kieran inserts himself into Angela’s life the more that she is beginning to wonder if Soren is the best man for her. Soren has always been a jealous man, and watching someone attempt to take Angela away from him only adds fuel to the fire. The constant push and pull between Soren and Angela, with the help of Kieran, only ratchets up the drama of this finale. I devoured this book just like I did with all of the others in this series. I wanted to see a happy ending for Angela and Soren but the forbidden touch of Kieran added an interesting detour in Angela’s journey toward Soren. Vaughn wove this story so beautifully that I could not have put a single book in this series if I had tried. Her unique voice made the characters come to life in a way that made the story line and background just dance off the pages. I HIGHLY recommend this series, and this author, to anyone who is looking to find a new love to read. I can’t wait to see what Vaughn brings to her readers next because I am going to be first in line to buy whatever she releases.

Beckoned, Part 4: From Barcelona with Love by Aviva Vaughn picks up right where Part 3 left off. If you need to be caught up, I have reviewed Parts 1-3, so check them out. Well, Angela is back in Los Angeles and Soren in Barcelona, Spain. Long distance relationships are hard, however, Angela and Soren are trying to make it work. Soren hates being away from Angela and has asked her to move in with him in London after he is done with school. Angela is hesitant. She loves Soren but she can’t imagine living away from friends and family. She also has been working with the handsome, dark, and mysterious bookstore owner, Kieran. Kieran has been working with on editing her book and getting it ready to publish. However, they can’t deny the attraction that they have towards one another. Angela does everything she can to make sure the relationship stays professional. Soon, she reaches a crossroads. Does she make a commitment to Soren and move with him to London or does she give in to the attraction she has with Kieran? One thing is for sure, heartbreak is in her future.Ugh. My heart. I have eagerly read this whole series. This one left me so heartbroken. I will not spoil it, but it did not have the ending I expected. In fact, the ending seemed to be a little rushed, considering there are three books leading up to this installment. However, I did love how all the characters grow and learn that the choices that they make require sacrifices. Sacrifices that will leave them scarred. One thing I do love is how all the characters have noticeable flaws. Angela is always running, making excuses to not fully commit and also doesn’t truly seem to know what love actually is. Soren is dedicated and loyal, but he is too loyal. He can be possessive and controlling. Kieran has issues. Drama seems to follow him. He does things without thinking. He often crosses lines without thinking.However, as always, Aviva Vaughn’s writing is always so colorful and filled with music, food, and diversity! Although, I can’t say that I am loving this ending. It does make sense overall. (Sorry, I am struggling with my emotions at the moment.) So, let’s just say I am extremely eager to read part 5 that should be released this year! I need to know what will happen next! Catch up on the entire Beckoned Series before the release of Part 5!

It is a story that was hard to put down once I started and hard to forget once I finished. It is the continuing story of Angela and Soren. The story shows the strain that the distance between these two, as she is in Los Angeles and he is in Barcelona, is having on their relationship. Angela has a decision to make. Will she choose to move to London with Soren or will she choose to stay in Los Angeles, a city that she dearly loves? Angela is a woman that has a passion for life, food and her business. Her life is ruled by emotions. Soren is a man that lives by logic and facts. The choice that Angela has is further complicated by a very handsome business partner. This is a book that had my emotions going up and down. You can feel just how hard it is for Angela to make a decision. I have grown to love her character and found myself wanting her life to be a happy one. I know that I would have a very hard time if put in her place. I also love the attention to detail that is given to the places that Angela visits when in Barcelona. This story is a further example of how the author writes wonderful stories with amazing characters. I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

5 StarsBeckoned: From Barcelona With Love is the fourth part of the “Beckoned” series by Aviva Vaughn. I thought the last instalment of the series was interesting, and the best of the bunch- but this book takes the cake! I certainly wasn’t expecting the way the story played out… my mind had wandered down several possible outcomes/scenarios, but I wasn’t certain which way Ms. Vaughn would take the story, and I was pleasantly surprised by what I read. It really was the perfect way to take the storyline and I love, love, love it. And that ending- OH MY MY MY!!!The whole story/series has been fascinating and captivating- with Ms. Vaughn upping the ante with each instalment, each book slightly eclipsing the last. I was enthralled through each and every book in a way I never expected to be going into this series. Having read the four books now, I can’t help thinking what a wonderful Television mini-series this would make. It really is different from a lot of other reads- the descriptions and scene setting are so vivid, rich and vibrant- I was ‘seeing’ the scenes play out before my eyes. The sights, smells and tastes of the books/series come alive, along with the characters. I could go on and on about this book and series, but instead I just highly recommend you dive in and read all the wonderful details for yourself. You are bound to love them as much as I do!How excited am I to discover that there will be a part 5 and 6 coming out!!!! I just can’t wait!!Another fantastic read from a great author!Thank you, Ms. Vaughn!
