Sanabul Essential Striking Sticks for Boxing MMA (Pair)

I would buy again & give it as a gift.

I originally got the idea to order these because we occasionally use pool noodles at my gym, mainly because the extra reach enables us to work head movement and returning shots without screwing up ranges, which is one issue you'll get with standard mitt work. Since I'm about 5'6" and usually work with people taller than me, having my partner weave under my hook means I have to close a lot of distance, and their returning cross is usually stuffed since I am so close to them. Not the case with these 22 inch heavy duty pool noodles.The thing with regular pool noodles is that, even though they are very cheap, they are also very flimsy. The noodles at the gym are older than some of our kid students and they're splitting at the ends or need to be held together with duct tape. These noodles are much more robust and purpose built. Sanabul claims they're made with the same foam as their mitts and I'd believe it. But my Sanabul mitts are more broken in and not rolled into a compressed tube.I almost thought they were too stiff as I intended to get them to coach a friend of mine whose left hand is injured to the point where even throwing a light jab on a pad will make him wince in pain. When he hit these noodles, he didn't feel a thing. So while they are stiff, proper holding technique (and the hitter going a little lighter with power) ensures that any injuries won't get worse.These are great for giving my shoulders a break too.

A common issue with training students in boxing is they let their hands drop. The sticks provide a quick reactive way for the pad holder to tap the student on the side of the head where they drop their hands. You can of course do this with focus mits, however, this is much quicker and easier on the pad holder. After a half dozen taps (I make my students wear headgear), they were much better at bringing the hands back to the chin after striking. They have the right amount of stiffness to use as mits for the strikes as well. Great product.

Just get it, you won’t find a hit stick at this length, this light weight, and feedback at this price. Tried on two my clients and they both enjoyed the quickness and “pop” it delivers when working counters. My shoulders are now at ease knowing that these sticks can take some steam off the welterweights. A must have when training taller athletes and can be used to simulate kicks to the shins on beginners whose shins aren’t as “conditioned” yet.

Well made. Just enough padding and flex to keep sparring fun while still feeling the blows. I mostly use them on my Century BOB, who always seems happy to play. However, I also use them in conjuction with her Century Versys MMA bag as a boxing tool for my 8 yo daughter. I stand behind it and flash out jabs and hooks for her to dodge and block while she still goes on the attack. I recomend this product for anyone who is in the market for it.

These are very sturdy and a fun addition to our boxing workouts. They were a great price and made well. My only problem is the hand grips are hard to hold on to when your hands are sweaty from your gloves.
