The media could not be loaded. The lights don't work the whole reason why I bought the bike is for the lights and the lights don't even work

Perfect for our needs and super cool, too!
This bike did exactly what I hoped it would do: encourage my 9-year-old to FINALLY learn to ride a bike. Its coolness factor and smaller frame size are perfect for him.We tried to teach him to ride without training wheels when he was about 6. He took too many spills and decided he was never riding a bike again, ever. Hasn't touched one since. He's 54" tall now, so he's definitely tall enough for a 24" bike, but I worried that he'd find a bike that large too intimidating. I hoped that this 20" bike would help him feel more confident to learn to ride. And I was right! He hopped right on and was riding like a pro in less than 10 minutes. At his height, this bike unfortunately won't fit him for long. His seat is all the way up now and his legs aren't anywhere near straight on the downstroke. But it will work for this year, at least, and then we can put it away for a few years until his little brother, who is now 4, is ready to ditch his training wheels.Assembly-wise, my husband says it was fairly straightforward. He's a cyclist, though, and knows his way around a bike. When newly assembled, we noticed that one of the light panels on the top bar didn't work. The other three light panels work just fine.I ran into a bit of an issue when I reached out to customer service about the defective light. Because I got this bike through the Vine program, I don't have a traditional receipt or order that shows all the standard info in one place (where purchased, purchase price, item info, and so on). So I wasn't able to get a replacement. For normal Amazon purchases, I don't believe this should be a problem, however. A standard Amazon order page would have all the required info. I found Jetson's customer service personnel to be friendly and helpful. For our needs, this bike has really been awesome. Both my boys think the lights are SO COOL and they love taking turns choosing a light color and pattern each time the big kid rides. The bike is sturdy and comfortable to ride.I am a little bummed that this really isn't a good bike for my son to ride to school. On days when it might rain, I fear the lights would get zorched pretty quickly. I think that's a big negative, actually. Bikes for kids shouldn't be fussy. We also have a Jetson hoverboard and I honestly never even thought about this, because with the hoverboard, it's easy to just not ride it in the rain and never leave it out where it might get wet. Bikes, though? Bikes, especially those ridden to school and left locked to bikeracks, get wet all the time.Overall, we're really happy with this bike. I'm thrilled that its cool lights and smaller frame size were enough of an enticement to encourage my son to learn to ride. He really loves this bike and can't WAIT to go out and ride every day now. Huge win!

We like it
I ordered this for my 7-year-old, and he absolutely loves it. It took me about an hour to assemble it. My front wheel was missing a bolt and pin which is needed in order to connect the base to the wheel. I contacted customer service, and they said since it was such a new model they don't have spare parts yet and suggested a bike shop as they are pretty common. I wasn't sure the size I needed, and I didn't have time to go to a bike shop, so I just ordered a $10 set of random sized ones here on Amazon and they worked. The lowest setting I could put the seat at was just a tinge too tall for my son because it reflector is connected to it and makes the seat sit up a little bit higher. I didn't want to take the reflector off since it is in the back and a safety issue without it. Once he started writing it he realized it wasn't too bad and he got used to the additional height. He could still have his toes on the ground, but they were not completely flat. There is a button you can press to turn on the main lights. They are pretty cool, and there are numerous settings what different colors or having them flashing. Just long press the button in order to turn them on or off. I couldn't get the lights on the wheels to work like other reviewers, but I really don't care since the main lights work fine. I get a little nervous about the bike getting wet, so when it starts to sprinkle or rain I bring it inside because I'm not sure the lights will still work if water gets inside. It comes with a manual that is easy to understand, and everything seems to be working well so far. I had to add some additional air to the tires with my pump which is to be expected. I think this will last him a long time, and I definitely think it's perfect and we can adjust it as he grows taller. It's definitely for bigger kids. We are pleased with it and do recommend.

7 year old loves it!
This bike is perfectly sized for my 7 year old. It wasn't difficult to put together. Instructions were fairly clear. I had one brake cable that had to be fixed because it had come out of the slot near the brake lever on the handlebar. The lights work well on the actual frame, but the valve stem caps that light up are very cheap plastic and stick out pretty far. They work for now, but I do not see them lasting. They reminded me of those cheap plastic toys you get at the dollar store. There are two sets of them, one colored, and one white, so I suppose I could switch them out if one were to get broken. They use small cell batteries (included) to function and are supposed to light up when the bike is in motion. Its hit or miss in my opinion. My son likes the AA battery powered frame lights. I am not sure how waterproof or sun proof the coverings are for the lights, as we store this in the garage.

My daughter loves her new bike!It was fairly easy to put together with the instructions. The lights on the bar are really neat. You can change them to different colors and pattern variations with just a touch of a button. My 6 year old daughter loves changing it up. However the lights on the wheels do not work. We tried both sets that came with the bike and nothing worked. However, that isn't enough for me to not recommend this bike.
