Worth it
Yes. This grinder is pricey. As my grandma used to say, “It’s a dear do”But if you’re a coffee fanatic. If you spent hundreds of pounds on a coffee maker. If you buy single-estate hand roasted small batch beans. If you’ve spent months perfecting your espresso technique. Then you will understand the need for (1) fineness of grind (2) consistency of grind (3) control over the grind. This grinder does all three. In spades. It grinds fine enough for Turkish coffee, let alone espresso. I have a Turkish coffee pot, and I’ve tested this. So rather than having to buy Effendi Turkish ground, which sits around for months going stale, I can grind what I need, when I need it. It can grind courser for pour over like V60, and for French press. But I bought this thingy to make barista standard espresso at home. For this you need a fine grind, true. BUT you need consistent grind size. Once dialled in, you need your grounds to be ALL the same size. And always the same size. This grinder does that.If you never use fine ground coffee, there’s really little point spending this much on a grinder. But if you’re in search of the perfect espresso you seriously DO NEED to spend this much. But no more. There are more expensive hand grinders out there. Yes. Really. But I don’t see how they could be better than this one.The materials quality and the build quality are both very high indeed. The steel burrs on mine will probably outlive me, as I only use this grinder five or six times a week.So. If you’re serious about coffee, and you don’t mind putting in the effort, go for it!!!

Superb Engineering, Brings out the best in your coffee
Having used a cheap (sub £50) grinder for over a year I was getting frustrated that despite changing brands of coffee a few times it never tasted as good as some of the boutique coffee shops. To get good espresso the grind needs to be fine like flour and the reality is that the cheap grinders cannot grind fine enough. As a result the extraction is uneven and the taste is average at best.Using this grinder once on the same coffee beans I have used many times the difference in taste is very noticeable, the taste is a lot richer, flavours more complex. I really wasn't expecting the improvement to be this great. I am only using a budget machine - Delonghi - and I had trouble justifying spending nearly as much money on the grinder as I did on the coffee machine. I only wish I had bought the grinder much sooner. It is an extremely well engineered piece of kit and all the reviews I've read say that it performs as well as the market leader - Comandante which costs £100 more - so relatively it is an absolute bargain.I bought the Pro version as it allows a greater range of adjustment but a lot of reviewers recommend buying the standard JX version as the burrs are the same and its £25 cheaper. I certainly agonised for some time which model to buy.If you like good coffee I wouldn't hesitate buying this.

Fantastic grinder
For the price, this really is a hard grinder to beat. A wide range of grind settings so dailing in your grind can be achieved to a extremely high level of precision. The build quality seems to be stellar so far and the speed at which it grinds the beans as well as the consistency of the grind seems to be top notch

Fantastic
Espresso grind setting for my Beko machine is 1.8.0 and I’m very happy with it! It’s not at all hard to use. The static charge was unexpected, but leaving it to rest for a minute then tapping it sorts out that issue. Great piece of engineering!

Great grinder
We have been using this for some time now. It is so versatile and precise. We brew coffee in more than one method, and this grinder has come very handy.

Amazing value
Good value for money considering that it is real fast to ground a cup of Espresso but most important is the quality that comes out. Really happy with this grinder
