The best duvet ever! Indeed we now have two: one for the winter months and one for the summer months. Yes, occasionally a feather does stick out because it’s a real feather duvet! And yes it smells like a real feather duvet too (though there’s nothing offensive about it). If you’re looking for something entirely synthetic, there’s other options out there for you. We love this duvet because it seems to somehow regulate the heat: never too cold and never too hot. As far as duvets are concerned, we’ve arrived!

Lovely duvet! It arrived in a smallBox and has puffed up nicely when shaken and laid out to give some air. This is the second duvet I have ordered from viceroy as my first is a heavier tog I wanted something lighter for summer. This is perfect. Soft and fluffy, well constructed and even feather distribution. And no smell that others have mentioned.Another great purchase and highly recommended for the price.

We had high hopes for this duvet and while it was lightweight, which was what we were after for summer, sadly the quality really lets it down. We’ve had so many feathers come out on a daily basis when you make the bed/strip the bed/move it. The feathers themselves are also very sharp which doesn’t help because they poke through the duvet and any duvet cover easily, making it more susceptible to coming out entirely. We have tried contacting the seller on 4 occasions now with no reply or resolution. I’d say this isn’t fit for purpose and to go with caution if you’re tempted by this product, we won’t be buying from them again.

Was initially worried that the 7.5 would be too light as i usually have 15 tog! Its not, its perfect for spring/summer/autumn. Not heavy, no feathers poking through and only a very slight russle. Great price.

This is one quilt I would not buy again

Happy with product weight etc except the smell is vile ! Had it hanging out on line with fresh air going thro it BUT seems worse so I think it’ll have to be washed with plenty of detergent and fabric conditioner luckily I won’t need it till spring .

First of all the brand is not Viceroybedding but Rose Household Textiles (anything in common? please explain somewhere at least).It looks and feels very nice and quite fluffy, doesn't leave feathers and it is warm enough for mid-season (a good 7.5 tog but as warm as a synthetic one of 10.5), the problem is... IT SMELLS OF FARMYARD! Very bad. I have had 2 feather duvets in my life already, this is the third one, and it never happened before, but I paid the others much more than this one. When I bought it in April I used it only for 1 week or 2, because I preferred to change it with a lighter one. I put it in a vacuum bag, hoping that the smell would eventually fade, but I was too optimistic. I reopened it to use it in October and... I can't stand it! It smells, the room smells, I feel what I wear smells when I get out of it! I resisted a little more this time, maybe 2-3 weeks... but only because I am sleeping alone and don't really mind smelling like a goose when I wake up, since I am going straight to the shower.I thought I could bring it to a laundry but after reading other similar reviews, which I haven't done before buying it, I now made up my mind that I will throw it away or give it to some poor people, since I guess it's too late now to ask for a refund. For the relatively low price I paid it, I don't want to add more than 20 pounds on top of it for laundry service, if they give it back to me as smelly as before! I am thinking... ok I lost 1 or 2 pounds for each day I used it.

It is a very good feather and down duvet, fulffy and light . 7.5tog is perfect for us and can use all year round except when it's over 30c. For this price it is good valued, but it does smell when we first received it. So we had to leave it under the sun for a few days and the smell went away. So far I haven't noticed any feather stick out like other people described.
