NalgeneOn the Fly BPA-Free Water Bottle, Green w Green/White, 24 oz

This OTF bottle is an attempt to make a more "daily driver" type of bottle than what you will find with the iconic 32 oz "wide mouth" bottle. This bottle should fit in most cupholders and yet hold enough liquid so that you wont have to constantly refill. (This bottle holds 24 ounces which is about 680mL). This bottle is clearly designed for cold and "refreshing" beverages and probably wont be much use for coffee or hot tea. It is made to "chug" cold liquids, so unless you like to "chug" hot coffee, then you should look elsewhere for a hot beverage bottle.As for the bottle itself:The bottle is made in the USA and the cap is made in China. The bottle is made of Tritan plastic and is light and very durable. Tritan isn't "quite" as strong as the old BPA polycarbonate, but it is still plenty strong. For all intents and purposes, this bottle will be indestructible and should last many, many years. If you ever have to replace it, it will likely be because of scuffs or scratches and not because it broke or shattered. (The lid might be a different story, time will tell). Nalgene offers a lifetime warranty on some of their bottles (doesn't cover scuffs or scratches), but I am not sure what they offer on this one. I would imagine it's at least a few years.As for the Lid:This "OTF" lid can be opened and shut with one hand so it makes for safer driving. From my tests, the bottle does not leak a drop, ever. I don't know how long the lid will last, but there's people in the reviews who have used them for years without failure. The good news is that it is very easy to order replacement lids from Nalgene in case a lid fails. (Some companies make it hard or impossible to buy replacement lids).Most important for me, this lid has just the right amount of flow for a "chug" bottle and the lip is VERY comfortable to use. It is the most comfortable and "refreshing" drink from a plastic bottle I have ever experienced. I was really impressed. Nalgene obviously put a lot of thought into the design and did a lot of testing.Conclusion:Overall, I highly recommend the bottle for cold beverages. It is great to carry on your daily commutes, to put on your desk at the office, and is perfect as a gym or biking bottle. It probably isn't the best for outdoor use in hot weather because it isn't insulated and won't hold its temp for as long as double walled, vacuum sealed stainless steel. But for indoor use (or light outdoor use), it can't be beat.

The perfect leak proof lunchbox drink holder. It is no double walled so it does sweat and loose temperature which is why I recommend for cold lunchbox or ice chest only. If you put it in a gym bag n the trunk it is going to get warm and sweat on your clothes.

The Mold & Mildew Issue is FAKE NEWS. This is written by people that either do not know how to properly care for their water bottles or do know, but have made an honest mistake.The fact is, anything that has moisture left in it in an enclosed space without airflow can grow mold / mildew. How do you avoid this in general? AIR FLOW. Air flow generally prevents mold / mildew from growing. Our family has used two of these bottles for 2 years and they have not had any issue with mold or mildew. To prevent this from occurring, here is all you need to do:1. Fill up the bottle and use it during the day.2. When done using the bottle at night, simply pour out the unused water from the bottle and store the bottle open to the air on the counter or in some other area that gets airflow.3. Open up the cap/lid by unhooking the latch, shake out any excess water, and store it on the counter (unlatched) so the inside of the cap/lid is open to the air.4. Wash the bottle and cap/lid on a weekly (or more) basis using hot, soapy water. Fill the bottle with hot, soapy water, place the cap/lid on the bottle, latch the top, and shake vigorously. Rinse with clean, hot water and dry the entire unit with a clean towel. Then leave the bottle and cap/lid (open, not latched) on the counter or in a drying rack open to the air to get airflow. Let dry for several hours (or preferably overnight).We have used the above process for 2 years and the bottle has zero mold / mildew and is like-new. We only wash 1 time per week. It has performed well through daily use by young children and has been dropped dozens of times. We really like these bottles. Good luck and enjoy!

Perfect for taking to the gym- securely latches. The spout is winds and easy to clean. It also can go in the dishwasher.

This bottle is really nice and looks good. One handed operation is a little iffy because the lid pops open easily with one hand but really you need two hands to get it to click shut. Also the large lid is a little unwieldly when you drink. But for the price this is a great looking and functional water bottle.*Update 9/26/2018I just wanted to update my review. Over the two years I've owned these, I've come to realize what a great product they are. These are outstanding bottles. My doctor said I was having kidney problems and needed to drink more water, so I got two of these. I use them daily, and they've held up so well and have just been great products. I cannot recommend them highly enough. A friend of mine gave me a water bottle recently that sells for 20 dollars here on Amazon, and it's a total piece of junk. It leaks, the cap pops open and it doesn't have the 'carry handle' that this one does. In fact that experience is why I came back to update this review. I realized just how nice these Nalgenes were. Going strong for two years running, like I said with daily use, these are ergonomic and well constructed products. I also haven't had the mold issue under the cap like some have reported. All I can figure is it has something to do with my municipal water supply. In any case, an easy five star rated product.

Tengo varios Nalgene, para deporte, montaña, para casa, y varios para regalo.Es un producto estupendo, no tiene rival, no da olor, no da sabor, incluso con calor extremo o con días de sol. Resistente a los golpes, calidad de los acabados buena, los tapones son de la misma medida pudiendo intercambiarlos.En concreto este modelo tiene una cosa buena y una mala: su apertura rápida; a saber, es muy cómoda para beber en bicicleta, o andando sin pararse, o incluso de noche, sin duda es muy cómoda. Pero el clip de metal viene encajado en una pequeña hendidura de plástico que puede romperse, yo solo he roto una de varias que tengo, pero es más frágil que otros modelos de Nalgene que van a rosca. Como conclusión: sí compraría más veces este bidón con esta apertura, para estar en casa o para ir en bici, pero compraría el modelo de tapón rosca (o un tapón suelto para completar) en caso de utilizarlo para montaña, o actividades en las que puedo pararme a beber y necesito que no se rompa sea cual sea su uso.

Wir kaufen diese Trinkflaschen schon seid 4 Jahren. Mein Sohn hat seine erste in der 1. Klasse bekommen und er ist der einzige bei dem die Trinkflasche noch NIE ausgelaufen ist! Die 0,7 l Flasche hat die perfekte Größe für die Schule und auch so sehen die Flaschen toll aus. Selbst Getränke mit Kohlensäure lassen die Flasche nicht undicht werden - für den Preis haben wir gleich mehrere zuhause und sie sind einfach super. Leicht zu reinigen und noch keine ist kaputt gegangen. Ich mach sie sogar in den Spühler. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Wir haben gleich zwei Nalgene Trinkflaschen bestellt. Sie sind bereits seit über einem halben Jahr im täglichen Einsatz.Einen Eigengeschmack des Kunststoffes war von Anfang an nicht feststellbar.Gefüllt werden sie ausschließlich mit stillem Wasser. Die Reinigung erfolgt in der Spülmaschine. Bislang sind sie noch absolut dicht!! Auch Schimmel ist bislang bei unseren Flaschen nicht aufgetreten. Der Kunststoff ist ebenfalls noch komplett klar und ist nicht matt/milchig geworden oder hat Risse bekommen. Nach der Reinigung lassen wir sie im Geschirrkorb noch vollständig trocknen und spülen den Deckel nochmal unter fließendem Wasser ab. Ggf. schmeckt das stille Wasser nach der Reinigung etwas nach Geschirrspülmittel. Dies dürfte bei einer Handwäsche mit normalem Spülmittel sicherlich nicht auftreten.Der Verschluss funktioniert einwandfrei. Durch den Sicherungsbügel können die Flaschen problemlos in einer Tasche herumgetragen werde ohne das Gefahr besteht das etwas ausläuft - auch wenn sie mal in Schräglage kommen.Die Trinken aus den Flaschen ist dank der Öffnung sehr angenehm. Viel besser als bei irgendwelchen Sportflaschen oder Modellen mit Schraubverschluss.Eine klare Kaufempfehlung!!
