Excellent pedal
I am a recent convert to Behringer's products and I am impressed with the quality of their pedals for such relatively cheap and affordable prices.Even with my own `modest' guitar/amplifier/pedal board set-up the `NR300' makes a substantial difference. It is currently sat in the effects chain after the `UF300 Ultra Flanger' pedal and when powered on it drastically cuts the irritating and unwanted background hum that is otherwise present from the `UF300' (even at low volume). There are controls to alter the `Thresh' and `Decay' settings of the Noise Reducer and two specific modes of use are available - the `Reduction' that I use which, as referred to above, virtually silences any annoying noise, and `Mute', which, as it might suggest, cuts all signal once activated.Although I am still learning the guitar and am some distance from being competent enough to consider performing anywhere outside of my own living room, this particular pedal has made a big difference to myself when using my practice amp.Overall I believe this is a good value product and, for me, it does exactly the job I expected it to do.

An excellent, effective product.
This product is excellent. It does exactly as it promises to do and does it very well.It stacks up very well alongside the Boss equivalent noise reduction pedal (itself a great item but at a premium cost) for a fraction of the cost.It does not have a metal case but is certainly robust enough. If you look after your kit anyway this is not an issue since you will seldom need to switch it off. It surprises me when people talk about stuff getting wrecked - perhaps they don’t care about keeping kit serviceable.Behringer make some excellent and very affordable products, this being one.If you are looking for a noise reduce to calm down the noise from distortions and overdrives etc, this item will do it very well and you will save yourself the better part of £70.Just to say that as usual, Amazon are a fabulous company to deal with - item delivered barely 18 hours after the order.

Good noise reducer but needs a redesigned case
This device works well and does exactly what it is supposed to. As another reviewer has said, if you only use top of the range pedals and leads then you probably won't need one of these. However, my other 4 pedals are Beringer and the leads and power supply are Stagg, so I do need some noise reduction. So if I were giving out stars just on its performance as a noise reducer / mute pedal then it would be 5. But there are some niggles.Another point also raised by another reviewer is that the Behringer instruction leaflets do not cover all aspects of how to use the Send Receive loop to go across pedals. It's simple enough once you know but I recommend downloading the user manual for the Boss NS-2 which is essentially the same product. Their schematic shows how to connect up the pedal train including a reverb pedal and a tuner which is not explained by Beringer. Now for my gripe about the design of the case. All Behringer pedals have the input on the right and output on the left so that a pedal train signal will run right to left. However, the Send Receive loop connectors are in the same orientation so one has to have longer patch cords which cross over in order to fit the loop around the pedal train. If Behringer would just swap those two sockets then shorter patch leads could be used so reducing some unwanted noise and messy lead arrangements. Not something that should put you off buying it but just be aware you will need a couple of longer patch leads. In summary, a good product which at £15 was excellent value but some better instructions and a simple re-design would make it an excellent product.

Less noise, more sound :)
For the price of this pedal it shouldn't be this good. It's on par with other more expensive similar pedals.I chose this over some others because it has a send and recieve loop. Gate the noise early but set the threshold on how it sounds later in your signal chain. Best of both worlds, almost like having a gate at 2 points. The pedal has a reduction and a mute mode on it. I use the reduction mode because I find the mute mode works a little strange. In reduction mode you can turn the pedal off and it bypasses. In mute mode the pedal gates the noise when it's OFF and it mutes your guitar when it's ON. That is weird to me but I guess it could be useful for some players.

Mmmm.... not good, in fact really bad.
Just doesn't do the job. Bought this to see if I could eliminate hiss from my Stratocaster but it simply made it worse. This company does make some good budget pedals but this is not one of them. I tried using 2 and 4 leads but nothing really worked and, in my opinion, the hiss was louder! I would not recommend this pedal to anyone except Satan.

Adds slight fuzz to clean tones...
This pedal is very good at cutting out background hiss from my way huge angry troll/green rhino individually (although with both on it really struggled) but unfortunately it also adds a small amount of fuzz to the clean tone of my guitar. It isn't noticeable at quieter levels but once I turn my Vox AC30vr volume up to 12 o'clock it's clearly audible. If you just want something for using at home at fairly low volumes or you play exclusively with your distortion pedals on (the added fuzz is only noticeable when using clean tones) then this will probably do the job for you. If however you spend a lot of time switching from clean to distorted tones mid song then I would avoid it unless you're prepared to simultaneously switch off this pedal at the same time as your other effects.

Decent noise gate
Well, I did not expect anything special from a device of this price, but I must say this is a decent pedal at least for home use. As a sweet trait, it has send/receive, so you can connect noisy high-gain pedals through it properly.
