I bought this for my husband as he is diabetic and portion size is important but it is for us,pattern too 'busy' and complicated I gave mine away.

Not as good as described only good for a display plate

I purchased this plate for carers to use with my son who has severe learning difficulties and is very overweight. We had been shown a portion control plate by my son's dietician, which had pictures and was very easy to understand. Unfortunately the plate she had was only available as a teaching aid and not to the general public. If one person were going to use the plate I'm sure they would work out how to use it (it seems quite complicated) and it could be a useful tool but in a situation where carers are regularly changed, each new carer would have to spend a considerable time getting to know how it works. Time they do not have whilst trying to cater for my son's other considerable needs. Also, on the plate I bought there was a fault in the glazing which you would not expect to find on a piece of crockery costing this much.

I didn't mean to order this - think I must have hit the 1-click ordering after looking at the product when I was exiting the app. I only realised when I saw an e-mail telling me the item was on it's way.I fully intended to return the product (especially when the plate was for a male and I'm the one wanting to lose weight). However, on receipt I decided to keep it. It is a good, solid, heavy plate which is dishwasher and microwave safe. No harm in my husband monitoring his portion size too and I can use it as a guide.
