Excellent results for such a low price
Cheaper than the 3M alternative and includes UV sealant that the 3M kit doesn't. Get some broad automotive tape and you have all you need to do the job, don't skip this step as it makes it a lot easier go right to the edge. I found it easy to stretch the kit to do three headlights so it works out very cheap per light. It took a fair amount of elbow grease and around 30 minutes for each light. I was pleasantly surprised how effective it was at taking a yellow cloudy light to white and clear. It works really well but if you've never done this before I think some additional instructions would go a long way to getting a good result:1. Use a spray bottle or sponge to keep the entire headlight wet while you work with the sanding papers and work in long smooth strokes.2. When you start with the first paper at 2000 grit keep working it until the slurry produced goes white. Initially it'll come off a dirty yellow colour, rinse it off and work it again until you have removed all the discoloured acrylic indicated by white slurry. If you don't get all the yellow off with the most abrasive paper it will only take longer and be harder to do with the next.3. Don't move on to the next paper until you have removed all of the lines from the previous. As you do each finer level perpendicular to the last, alternating between horizontal and vertical, you can tell when to move onto the next when you can't see lines going to other way to the current direction.4. The final polish in the squeeze tube is just a very fine abrasive compound, when you've worked the 5000 grit paper and have a hazy light this stuff will suddenly make it pop and shine, put plenty of work into this step.

A MARKED IMPROVEMENT
I thought I'd write about my own experience with this product as it's the sort of thing that you're not too sure of when you're thinking of purchasing. I've got a nine year old Volvo XC90 and the headlights have been gradually getting more and more covered in some sort of opaque covering during the past three or four years. This year it's got really bad and I was concerned about passing the next MOT. The mechanic at my Volvo dealership told me the build-up is typical on this car and is due to using the headlight washers (no, I don't know why, technically, this is so, either). Volvo do offer a headlight refurbishment, but it would mean traveling to their Slough branch and I'd been putting off arranging it, as I assumed it would be complicated and maybe expensive. A neighbour told me about headlight refurb kits and I checked out the choices on Amazon. This one says it doesn't need any tools and the video (see You Tube) demonstrates a fairly easy manual process. So, how did it do? Well, the result is very good "considering". The headlights were heavily marked and I had to use the sandpaper process three times, but the result is definitely a big improvement. I'm pretty sure there'll be no issue at the MOT and the headlights are nearly back to normal. I have enough sandpaper left for one more go, but I want to keep the sheets to try on another of our cars that is less heavily marked. I should mention that there's a lot of product in the kit - probably enough for two complete uses, if your headlights come up well fairly easily. I've still got lots of polish etc left, just no more sandpaper. So, in summary, a very good product that does pretty much all it claims. I think it would work even better on headlights that haven't been allowed to go as far as mine had. For the price on Amazon, versus the unknown cost and hassle of taking it to the dealership, I'd say it's well worth it.I've given it four stars, rather than five, as it didn't completely clear my (very bad) headlights. But I think someone whose headlights were less badly affected would find this is a five star product.

Follow the instructions and this product works great
The headlights on my car were quite yellow and hazy.I watched the video online and followed the instructions. The polish stage requires a bit of elbow grease, but persevere and the results are very good. The headlights look like new now.Very pleased with the results

Works reasonaby well but it's small (see photograph)!
First off, it does actually work! BUT the contents of the box are incredibly small! It seems so mean, the size of the sandpaper and sanding block is such that it's hard to hold and it really will only do one set of headlamps. So, if you want to do more than 2 headlamps it might be better to get a few full-size sheets of fine sandpaper (grits from P2000 to P5000) instead, and some toothpaste! So, no criticism about the principle and it's very nicely packaged but I feel it's quite expensive for what you get. Mind you, none of these products are cheap.I've added a picture of the sandpaper and bottles with a £1 coin just to give the idea of scale. Yes, that little rectangle is the sandpaper; there are 12 of them. Grumpy.

Works fine, if you're prepared to use some 'elbow grease'.
Obviously required some good old fashioned elbow grease but the end result was that my headlights looked as good as new. My car failed it's MOT a couple of years ago because the headlights were opaque and the light intensity was adjudged too low, so with the MOT due in a couple of weeks it was a case of either returning them to a near new state or forking out approximately £150 plus fitting and realignment, it was a 'no brainer' as they say! The kit's contents were well adequate for two operations, some reviewers have remarked upon the various grades of sandpaper and the rubber backing block as being on the small side. I found the size just right for me but as it's quite small, the rubber block tends to become misshapen after a while and it would have been nice to have had a spare.

3M 39045 Headlight Renewal Kit with Protectant vs. Quixx Headlight Restoration Kit + Lens Sealer
I bought both the 3M product and the Quixx products, one to use on each of my bad headlights. \Bottom line: They both did equally well. I could not tell the difference between the two after I finished. You may think your headlights are very bad but bad is a relative term. I thought mine were bad but I finished each one in 30 minutes even when I didn't use a power tool.Recommendation: If yours are 'bad' and you have a power drill, use the 3M product. If you do not have a power drill and your headlights are bad, you can use the Quixx. You may have to rub a little harder & longer but with all the time you spend going to buy a drill, you could have finished the headlights. The 3M product has great instructions. My biggest peeve is the polish and lens sealer are in plastic pouches, it will be very hard preventing them oozing out.The Quixx product instructions are only ok compared to 3M's. But everything is in re-sealable containers. Because the sanding is by hand, you have more control and can get into corners easily. I did not even tape (I had to on the 3M side with the power sander). 3M seems to count on sanding and polishing whereas Quixx uses sanding but more on a German chemical technology to restore the lens. Both worked for me and should for you, given the caveats above.
