Transported 2 cats on 2 day journey
I was moving from Illinios to Texas. This car kennel had good reviews so I ordered them. Once I figured out how to zip them together, I left them in the living room for a week or so. Cats went right in there and seemed to like hanging out in there. They were easy to install in my back seat. I have a special needs cat that needs her bladder expressed about 3 times a day. When I did the mid day one, we would have to open car door, unzip side, get her out of the carrier from the side. Zip up so other cat doesn’t get out then then jump in the front seat immediately and close the doors . I wish there was a top zippered entry. I would have been easier to lift her up out of the top in the closed car than from the side entry that required me to open the car door.We put them in different carriers to take them into hotel for the night, Which was another open car door, unzip side, grab cat, zip side, get in carrier. Times 2. I was very nervous about this action and it would have been much easier if we had access from the top of the kennel that the sides which required opening then a4 doors. Other than that, we got them to their new homes without much complaining on their end . I had put a disposable litter box for the other one at one end of the kennel that both enjoyed sitting in rather than using ..

3 cats, 3 weeks, and 3,000+ miles
We have three male cats. They're all very large (12 lbs - 18 lbs), and two are pretty old (15.5 yrs). They're all 100% indoor cats, neutered, and pretty well behaved, but any amount of time in a carrier/car, and they cry. One of them becomes an anxious puddle and pees himself every time. It's basically a nightmare every vet trip.OR AT LEAST IT WAS...When we decided to move from Utah to Delaware, we had no idea what we were going to do, but with a lot of research (and other helpful amazon reviews), we found this kennel and everything changed. Not going to lie, one of them cried the whole first day, but after that it was smooth-going basically the ENTIRE rest of the road trip. I don't think there's any way we could possibly be happier with this purchase.Pros:- They all got to be in there together with PLENTY of room to spare, so they could walk around, stretch, cuddle, or get some space if they needed it. There was even room for some toys and stuffies. The older boys slept 90% of the trip, the younger boy played and looked out the window.- It's EXTREMELY sturdy, both as individual carriers and as a double carrier. I was able to carry the two lighter cats in one by myself and my husband carried the heavier cat in the other, but it's actually solid enough that we just started carrying them around in the double carrier. The cats enjoyed climbing on top of/around it in the hotel rooms and it showed no sign of collapse. It's VERY secure.- It is just the right width to fit on most luggage carts. Some we did need to squish it a little, but there is some give. It also fit perfectly in the back seat of our Rav4.- Love that there are so many ways to get access to them, and lots of mesh for them to see out of. I think they hate the plastic carriers because they're so cramped and claustrophobic, but there was none of that in this carrier.- Comfy. Again, the cats mostly just slept. And in the hotel rooms, when they weren't snuggled up with us on the bed, they were camping out in the carrier, which we left open for them.Cons:- It is big, but that's kind of the point.- It's kind of expensive, but it's definitely worth every penny. I have ZERO regrets.- Our younger cat DID figure out how to open the zippers in one section, but only because they weren't in the upper corner. Once I put them up there, he couldn't get the leverage to escape. Next time, I'll use a safety pin to secure it. Our other cats had no interest in trying to escape.Basically, this carrier is amazing and saved us so much head/heartache.TIPS:- We never drove longer than 8 hours in a day. Planning ahead was very important for this.- We also never drove more than 2 days in a row. This isn't always possible, I understand, but one of our cats is definitely showing his age and we wanted to make sure he had some breaks in between to rest... and it definitely helped. They all really got used to playing in the different hotel rooms and stretching out/getting some good sleep in between.- We didn't feed/water our cats in the morning to help them hold it during the day. We did, however, give them a lickable treat halfway through for some food/moisture.- They all got lots of playtime at night.- Disposable litter boxes are a lifesaver. We used those, crystal litter for their odor control, puppy pads, and a hand broom/dustpan to keep things super clean. Just throw the whole thing away at each hotel when we left. We also brought our own big garbage bags to make it super easy.- For the longer stay (two weeks in Texas), we used a couple of Skoon boxes, which worked out very well, too.- All but one of our hotels was the same chain so we could sign up with and take advantage of their rewards plan, which actually made the last two stays a lot nicer (free upgrades!). I called each hotel well in advance to make sure that they were okay with 3 cats instead of 2, documented it in the reservation notes, and if we were ever going to be late checking in, called to make sure they knew we were still coming. MOST of the hotels I called were very accommodating and kind, and only some of them charged additional fees. They appreciated that I asked.- For the carrier itself, we put puppy pads on the padded inserts and folded towels on top for comfort. On top of the carrier, we put a big blanket, which we could pull down/fold up depending on how much sun was getting in.- We also put under bed tubs full of travel stuff underneath the carrier on top of the seat, which elevated the carrier several inches. This let the cats look out the window and see the scenery. They seemed to like looking at the cars and people whenever we stopped for gas. This makes it harder to buckle them in, but you can still loop the seatbelt through the back and around the headrest (on both sides) for additional security.ANYWAY, we got all three of our boys to Delaware and they're all in great shape! We're still shocked. Our old tabby didn't even pee himself-- not even once!!! I'm still shocked.Highly recommended. A+++ Would buy again, except I don't need to since it's still in amazing shape and looks like it's going to last for a long time go come!

great!
Cross country trip with 3 cats. The 2 bonded kitties did great in one of these big carriers. The older nervous cat was much more comfortable in the other big carrier by herself than she’d be in another carrier. The two carriers took up the whole back seat, but worth it to know they are safe and comfortable during the long trip. I’d definitely recommend keeping the zippers tied with small Velcro strips or something to keep them tightly closed, smart kitties can easily get them open and get out. Loved that they can be zipped together to make one big one with room for a litter box. I really recommend these carriers for any type of trip or run to the vet (or to keep them contained for house updates, etc.), Totally worth it!

Good sturdy carriers, a bit expensive
We got these to try taking our two cats (siblings, not amazing friends) on a couple trips with us. Overall, we're quite happy with the carriers. They're easy to set up and fold away, and are sturdy enough to be able to pick them up by the handle with a cat inside without them collapsing badly. Both carriers fit fine in our car (Chevy Bolt) backseat (or with them folded down) side-by-side with room to spare. The cats get good visibility with the mesh panels, and they can be opened from various sides and separated/joined as required. We also got one of the associated hammocks but our cats weren't interested, so we just leave it in the bottom of one as an extra cushion. We wish they were a bit cheaper, but they work well for their purpose and are well-built. It's nice that they include a carrying bag to help store them away when not in use, although we often leave them set up in our place because the cats like hanging out in them sometimes when not on trips.

Drove my kitties across the country
I moved 3000 km away and wanted my 2 kitties to be as comfortable as possible as they are not used to being in a car. They could lay down, sit, even use a small litter inside. It is not that practical to get out of the car for overnight stays in hotels/airbnbs so I'd suggest booking hotels that have caddies because otherwise it's pretty bulky to walk with. Happy with my purchase and that it doesn't that a lot of space when folded

Wonderful!
I finally found something that will be useful for long drives with our cats. Within in minutes of setting it up on our floor to check everything, both cats gravitated to go into it and take a nap (one woke up and readied himself for photo op when I went to take a picture). Together, no less (not related, and adopted years apart from each other, but they get along most of the time). It now has their smell on it and I'm relieved that they like it!Easy set up and easy to disassemble and even put back into the included zippered carry pouch. It has straps at the back for securing into a vehicle using the seatbelts. Kennel / shelter is also fairly sturdy when both ends zipped together and open in the middle. Bottom cushions / pads (2) are also included and unzip for washability.Very happy with this purchase, I now also have something to keep the cats in when I'm getting groceries delivered and the door opens and closes a few times, so they don't bolt outside (they're both indoor cats).

Portable 2-in-1 Double Pet Kennel ....So Far, So good.
This carrier does hold my cat, Gracie, and a litter box quite well. I like that there are handles on top of both sections to carry this to and from my car as this thing is pretty big. It does fit into the back seat and although my cat now hogs the whole back seat during trips, I feel this is a much safer mode of transportation for my pet. She still hates the motion of car travel, but at least I know exactly where she is and I won't plow into a tree or another car while trying to figure out what the heck she is doing back there. Better for both of us. I leave this carrier out for her to explore and play in, while not being used for travel, so she remains familiar with it.
