Practical, versatile, and a bargain at £70
I’m really pleased with this cast iron casserole dish, which comes from a good brand and has an attractive finish. I bought this for myself, using the change from buying an unexpectedly reduced Le Creuset risotto pan with my Christmas money to pick up what seemed like a real bargain. I’m glad I did.The pan came double-manufacturer boxed, in a largely plain brown shipper, with a printed retail box inside. It would present well as a gift. The pan is well made, with none of the little chips at the edges of the enamel or imperfections along the top edge that occur quite often on Staub pots. This has a light coloured lining, like Le Creusets. It needs to be used carefully to avoid staining/marks, but is easy to see when it’s clean. The pan is dishwasher safe, though to preserve the brightness of the enamel finish I mainly hand wash. The finish isn’t quite as good as that on a Le Creuset - the enamel is obviously a bit thinner, and even when used on the hob top the lid handle gets very hot (which Le Creusets don’t tend to do) - but is really pretty nice. The 24cm size is practical for mid-sized family meals. A bit of a bargain at £70. I use this regularly, and am glad I impulse purchased it.

Buy once, not cheaply twice
Good quality as you'd expect, got this in the sale at a reasonable price of £48. Comes with a nice little booklet with a recipe for each of their products. Its very easy to care for and all this is explained in the booklet or you can read it online, I shall post below direct from their website. Overall I expect this to last years upon years, so while it may seem expensive its better to buy quality once than something cheap multiple times, where possible of course.-"Suitable for use on all hobs (gas, electric, ceramic, glass, induction and halogen) and any type of oven, including Aga Stoves and open fires (and even barbecues!). When using on any glass stove tops, always follow the manufacturer's guidance. Don't drag pans across the glass.Only blackened enamel surfaces i.e. griddle pans can be gently heated dry. Otherwise ensure appropriate cooking liquid is added before heating commences. Do not use a high heat to attain cooking temperature as this can overheat the dish.Take care when handling if the dish is hot - always use an oven glove or mitt.Cast iron is heavy, hard, and moderately brittle and may break if knocked or dropped.Using an oversize heat source or allowing to boil dry will overheat the dish. After use allow to cool before placing in water otherwise the dish may thermal shock and permanently damage the enamel coating.Wash using soapy water and low-abrasive cleaning pads or brushes. Additional soaking may be required to remove food residues. After cleaning, ensure fully dry and re- condition any blackened enamel surfaces with cooking oil to prevent going rusty. This includes the top rim of casseroles.Store in dry conditions to avoid rust. Items stored for a long period should have paper towels put in them to absorb moisture."-

Heavy pan but otherwise absolutely brilliant
Perfect size for family of 4. We cook everything in this. Almost daily use from the day it arrived. However it’s heavy and if I had seen it in a shop I wouldn’t have bought it, assuming it would be hard work to lift and carry to the table. However, it looks great, it has fantastic even heat conductivity and washes brilliantly (not in dishwasher). Really happy a whole year after buying it. No deterioration in surfaces despite so much use

Excellent pot, used for many months and still as new
This was purchased for £48 back in december 2020. For that price, I think this is an excellent casserole dish. I've never owned le creuset so can't compare - however I have cooked probably 50 large meals in this denby one since I purchased it and have faith it will probably last as long as I do.I use it on an induction hob. It heats food evenly and it is very rare that anything sticks to the bottom. Even when it does, it is easy to restore it to "as new" condition with a bout in the dishwasher. My first dish had a chip in the enamel, I returned it and bought another. The second one is fine.I love cooking in this dish. You can saute onions on a low heat and walk away for 30 minutes without worrying about anything sticking to it. It's big enough to make food to portion into 6 or 8 standard takeaway size tubs. I have cooked curries, stews, soups and many other things. In fact the only thing I haven't cooked in this casserole dish is a casserole. For £48, highly recommended. For the current price of £129 I would perhaps be comparing with other brands.

Cooks as expected and well priced compared to other brands
I was hesitant to buy this and was moving more towards the le crescent brand but this cooks well with no issues .

A quality dutch oven
Bought while on offer to replace a cheaper brand dutch oven that I had to send back as the enamel chipped after the first use.No fears with this Denby pot. It has the timeless design charm you want in a dutch oven but more importantly it cooks fantastically, is easy to clean and seems very robust.I bake a sourdough boule every other day (still learning!) and I do pre-heat the pot in a cold oven up to 220 degrees. This avoids any thermal shock and I have had no issues at all. Just let it cool naturally after use, don't use metal implements or scouring pads and it really should last a lifetime. It has also been used for pulled pork and chicken curry with equally great results and it still looks like new! Love it.
