A friendship in words & picture
I have Geoff’s previous book but I hardly dare touch it, signed as it is by David and so oversized and heavy. This is a better book by far albeit too long coming - I emailed several years ago only to be told it was in development and coming soon. Since then there have been several shows and finally, this glorious book. Delving into Bowie, Geoff and their friendship over 60 years with a cast of the famous, not so famous, and just passer-by, there’s a surprising amount of text as well as the pictures. It’s a fabulous read, very uncritical of Bowie as you would expect (less so of others, Jagger comes off as a bit of a jerk) and full of details about Bowie at the peak of his travels. They get on a lot of boats and trains and have blast. It’s very moving in parts, especially towards the end where David is clearly concealing his illness. Love Bowie? You MUST have this. But I can see it appealing to anyone who has ever had the experience of a really good friend.

Ain’t No One I’d Rather Be.
Superb. Wonderful stories of lifelong friendships with David Bowie and George Underwood. It is a generous warm hearted read and full of cracking good humour. Great accounts of So Much! It’s a must read for anyone who loves reading about Bowie. Geoff has quite a story to tell its Big. Just a bit bigger than Belgium. Its told so “lightly”. It’s succinct. While other far briefer friendships with Bowie can lead to books, sub categories, and whole livelihoods of recounting, which, though often good, can dwell on single moments, Geoff’s book glides through a lifetimes worth. So many super surprising bits, full of amazing characters. Quite a life. How Lucky You Are. A huge love of music too - this book put me on to all sorts of new stuff.

Great book! Brilliant Photographs! Essential reading for any Bowie fan.
I saw the Bowie photo exhibition in Brighton which featured many of the pictures in this book. On two of the tours described by Geoff Maccormack I can proudly say "I was there, in the audience!" For anyone who saw Bowie in concert during the period covered by this book, it is a great souvenir and reminder of great times. If you weren't there then you can still enjoy this volume, which is in its own way an important historic record of one of the greatest artists of all time.

A must!
This is a wonderfully written memoir. Intimate, informative and very funny. Geoff's photos are superb and match the story excellently.Phil Lancaster (David Bowie and The Lower Third)
