These are two small computer fans both attached to a cable which can be plugged into a USB socket. The pair I purchased worked as described. But remember these are very small fans and are only originally designed to cool down the internals of a small personal computer.

How long is the wire between the two fan units (not the power USB cord)?

I think there may have been a slight alteration since I purchased mine, but from each fan to the USB splitter is 60cm. So mine can be stretched almost 4 feet apart. Hope this helps. Very good product which keeps the PS4 cool and remote hard drive.
