Purchased this for our club boat house which is a relatively large multi room unit. The building is isolated and sits partly over water which is a very problematic situation requiring special provisions for safety if a normal power supply is installed, however as this is low voltage all those safety issues do not apply.Very easy to install, no electrical knowledge or skills are required. The pre fitted plugs and set cable lengths are a bit limiting for my needs but these are what makes it idiot proof for installing so I can see the reason for them being like they are.The system has been installed now for about 6 months and is better than I could have hoped for. The light output is very good, the building we use it in is not used for long periods so I cannot comment on the run time of the battery as we never get near the limits of the system but the lights are always fully bright.The lamps are LED so are plastic not glass so very tough plus they operate cold so there are no heat / fire issues to worry about when installing them.Overall the system is fantastic, simple to install and use, pretty much maintenance free and should give many years of service, I have no hesitation in recommending it, it is especially useful in the situation we have with a remote building in which we are not easily able to get power to and not permitted to to major changes to because of the lease condition.

After buying cheaper systems, decided to buy this system. I can say it is well worth the extra expense. Simple to set up. There is a good length of cable from solar panel to control unit, and a sensible length on the bulb cables, with in line switches on each bulb cable, just plug everything in turn on the control unit and leave it to charge and use bulbs as required. Even in these dull Nov/Dec days the solar panel is keeping the battery well charged, and the bulbs are nice and bright.Highly recommend this system, early days, but am very happy with this kit. Also, after a slight problem, contact with the seller was quick and easy and sorted quickly. So 5*****s alround

The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the fact that this is only recently installed and therefore untried over the winter months. I purchased two kits for a newly built barn with no mains power (barn size 9.5m x 6m with a height of 4m).Kits arrived in a couple of days well packaged and basically plug and play. However due to the height of my installation I was prepared to make some alterations to the wiring in order to switch from ground level. Being that this was a 12v DC system with two core cable such changes with a few connectors were simple to do.A few reviews have mentioned mounting the panels difficult given the lack of brackets. This I would agree with given its suppose to be a complete kit but most will find a way and brackets can be purchased separately.One thing I have been surprised at is the amount of light these LED bulbs emit. With the two kits there are 8 lights in our size barn and the light is perfectly adequate and an excellent alternative to mains power lights.For what we needed this kit was ideal and great value for money, time will tell but from our experience so far I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to light an off grid shed, barn or stable.

Incredible bit of kit. I bought this for my cabin. Although that is not finished yet so I cannot install this system I have tested it in my conservatory and the light is far better than I expected at this price. I will update this post when the system is installed and include a small video for you. First impressions though are that this is a well made system with powerful lights that would suit stable blocks/cabins/shed (maybe too bight for a small shed) and garages with no external power. My only small complaint is that the main on/off for the lights is on the unit itself. Personally I would have preferred to have a central on-off on a cable as well so you do not have to have the main unit mounted in full view. Having said that you can hide the unit and use the individual switches on each light cable.

I have a large shed/work shop at the bottom of my garden. As it is 75 feet from the house and not connected to the house mains yet I wanted an off grid lighting system. I have to admit that I didn’t think it would do the job but the system lights a 140 square foot area really well. I have also added 2 further lights that are powered by the USB socket. If you have an area that needs lights and you don’t want to wire it into the mains I would highly recommend this system. It’s small and compact power unit is easy to set up. The solar panel is roughly the size of a sheet of A3 so at the minute it is just propped up in a window and will still works perfectly.

I've had the 25w unit for almost a year now and know it well. In the summer it was fine topped up no problem, but now on the 12th of December it won't produce any amperage at all. If you use it now and then its OK but for real off grid applications is not good. I have a separate 80w system installed after purchasing this one. Over all the system is over priced and at 12 amp hours the battery is no where near enough for off grid. The led lights are very good but are over rated for the battery, 2-3 watts would be much better.Weekend use in a caravan or for camping this is great, other than that get a kit piece by piece, its cheaper and you will build a bigger capacity system with more wattage for less money.Happy Christmas

I use this set up to light my outdoor stables, it works an absolute treat. It’s super easy to install and provides about four hours of light per day in the autumn, about two hours in the winter and hours of might in the summer. Really recommend this item.

Lights up garage perfect just using 2 lights.And simple to set up, would recommend this equipment where people need lights but have no power installed garages etc.
