Lakeland Chipper -a great addition to the kitchen equipment
Well made device, worth paying the extra, as there were cheaper models with less favourable reviews. Perfect for the job of getting even home made chips for my new air fryer and with an option for 2 sizes. Very easy to use, once you have sorted out parts as the instruction sheet was not the most informative and I was using it incorrectly to start with! I have not used for any other food, but my daughter in law has one and uses always for onions and relevant salad foods. It is worth mentioning that I will not put in the dishwasher, as the label shows only glass and crockery setting and I always use my dishwasher on pan settings, but it is so easy to dismantle and hand wash, so not an issue.

A really easy to use chipper
At first sight this device seems expensive compared to other devices to do the same task. However this one has one great advantage, it actually works and you do not need to be on steroids to use it. Apart from the cutters it is made from plastic and is very rigid, and of course not subject to rust. The pressure required to operate it is fairly minimal and the resultant chip are excellent. To my mind this is a quality tool and well worth the extra cost compared to it's rivals, and is highly recommended

The base is sturdy the plastic is decent quality
Just finished putting it through a kitchen trial. The base is sturdy the plastic is decent quality. The blades are good not terribly sharp but they are good for what they meant to do. Really easy to wash and with some practice it can be very useful. The bad part? The pusher has relatively smaller 'teeth' than the holes between the blades so food can get stuck and make the pusher hard to pull back but I suppose it's a trade off for easier cleaning which I prefer. The second thing the plastic can chip at the first uses found a small green bit on a potato from the pusher also the knife guide will get cut and chip off at the bottom could really use a small bit of metal there. Last thing try to avoid using it night it's quite loud.

Great chipper & dicer
Some previous reviews mention jamming and broken blades etc. This device is not intended to take a whole large potato, used sensibly it works fine. With a large spud I cut the ends off, then chop in half and then feed through (flat side first) with absolutely no problems. With smaller spuds you can feed through without having to chop. There are 2 blade sizes. I prefer the larger one to give you chips sized like you get in a chip shop. The smaller one is perfect for skinny chips which the kids like and also for when my wife wants sweet potato fries, which need to be skinny. Cleaning the machine is a doddle. It really only needs a rinse of the various parts. I think this device works great and wouldn’t be without it.EDIT: I purchased this in December 2017 and it is still going strong Aug. 2019.EDIT2: Still going strong July 2020. Used on average twice a week.

This is THE chipper to buy...
Absolutely THE best, THE sturdiest and THE easiest to use chipper/dicer I've ever used. No need to "suck" to worksuface, no need to have on a pull down lever just press on lever and support with free hand. No more cutting large items to fit into a small space this takes large potatoes and whole carrots! So easy to clean too. Can't praise high enough. I've used other designs in the past but THIS IS THE KING OF CHIPPERS (in my opinion anyhow)

Works fine had it a couple of years now
Works fine had it a couple of years now. but don't use it much now, As for my needs its just as easy to use a knifeIt may be useful if you had a lot to do.But then you would need something more robust.

Have owned a few different potato chippers, this is by far the best I've had
This is, so far, easily the best of several potato chippers I've owned (and broken) over the last few years. The main flaws usually one of two things; either there is simply a hinge to push the spud through the blades. This makes it a herculean task and results in bent chips. As it puts enormous pressure on the plastic/aluminium hinge, it eventually breaks. Others have a more elaborate lever with the 'pusher' on a rail which remedies the bent chips issue, but still breaks very easily, as, again it puts an enormous amount of stress on the mechanism. This one still relies on the 'pusher' being on a track, but the mechanism is gears. As a result, you don't have that 'willitbreakwillitbreak!!' feeling as you push down on it, it requires less strength than any other I've owned, and, once you hit that last gear that pushes the spud through, it stops, so you're less likely to break it.One thing to consider with any of these things is, if the spud is bigger than the square blades, it's not going to go well. Unless you trim the potato until it's going to go through easily, you stand the risk of breaking the push mechanism and/or bending the blades. Either chop them down or use smaller spuds.I've only had this one a few days, so time will tell, but it's certainly the easiest to use and clean I've had, and it doesn't have that 'this could break any second' feel to it, which is also a first. Also, the two sets of blades should appease the 'I hate skinny chips' brigade, and the 'dicer' guide is a nice addition I've yet to try out.

BUY IT AND YOU’LL NOT REGRET IT.
This is a top notch little potato chipper, so easy to use, I suggest when you remove the cutting blades be careful they are exceedingly sharp in fact a slight cut is so neat that it is difficult to notice where a drop of blood might be coming from on the hands or fingers.Another tip that I found to be beneficial. If the potato is rather large slice off the sides and the ends. Then it pays to cut the potato in half before putting it through the chipper. That makes it easier to chip.BUY IT AND YOU’LL NOT REGRET IT.
