Achieved the background I wanted

It’s a great product, good coverage and very nice black colour. I mixed it with poring medium and the black becomes a bit shiny. It’s a very thick gesso but very smooth. I’m happy with my purchase and I would definitely recommend it. It’s better than a normal black paint , good pigmentation, great price .

Very good price. Good primer. Coverage is good (using it to prime canvases before painting in oils). Good size and will last me ages. For better gessos, be prepared to pay much more.

Good coverage and great value.

I was running out of white gesso but my local art shop was closed due to covid so I couldn't get any more so I ordered this for a quick substitute. The only problem I found with it was it was a little watery but after I shook it, it fixed the problem so, yay! :D

This 500ml tub of gesso arrived well packaged and in perfect condition.I use a lot of gesso in my art work but for whatever reason have never tried it in black. I am currently making some pirate ships and wanted a true black base so tried this.I am so pleased, it is perfect. It covers well, and provides a chalky matte base to work on. The tub is going to last a while as so little is needed to get the depth of coverage I wanted.Definitely recommend.I hope you find this review helpful, thanks for reading.

Gesso was used to prime a couple of canvas boards in preparation for a painting project.Very convenient to use straight from the squeeze tube. Bright white in colour. Flows easily. Dries smoothly and quite quickly. No mess.Four stars only because this gesso is thinner than some brands so that the coverage was not as effective with one coat as hoped. Will need at least a second coat to try and cover a biro mark on one canvas.First time using the Pebeo brand.
