This magnetizer works great, better than the blocky ones.Only downside is the cost. Id like to get a dozen of them but....cost.

Since this is your basic magnetizing demagnetizing unit, you might as well look at the bottom of the page where it says “you might also like” and you may find the Katzco old school square version 3/$9.49.Don’t get me wrong, I love Wera tools and even recently pulled the trigger on their super high quality yet super expensive Allan’s in SAE and Metric. The best out there and as much as I would love to have only Wera tools, I have to tell myself that things like this product are a simple magnet with a pretty case. Who knows… maybe it’s a neomodium magnet (spelling?).Again, big fan and unless these are made in Germany start to finish, I cannot justify the price.If your a watch repair person, look for the AC electric Demagnetizers as they are less than this item but they don’t magnetize. Really good when your precision screw driver keeps pulling to the metal while working in delicate areas. Better than the old magnet trick. It’s more like a old school tape eraser. I am old school and I have seen just about all of the tools out there and often the new ones are prettier, more plastic and don’t last as long (unless it’s Wera of course). Sadly to me, the name is not as important if it’s not really made in the country of precision tooling like Germany. I will buy Taiwan tools anyway over China and Japan tools over Taiwan.

It works as intended when you follow the instructions. It magnetizes and demagnetizes my bits to my needs.

Magnetiser works good.Demag, not so much.

This little gem will magnetize your screwdriver or hex keys in 2 swipes and you can reverse it just as quickly. Fantastic devise!
