I’ve been taking this supplement for a while and despite it’s rather large size for swallowing, it does appear to be helping my vision. I have Dry Macular Degeneration and have visual disturbances causing wavy lines to appear when it should be straight lines. Since taking this supplement as recommended by my NHS Eye Consultant, I have now noticed an improvement. Lines are not so wavy now. Hopefully there will be more benefits too that I cannot “see” but maybe in my next consultation I will find out!

Was taking two a day of other CO’s but when they disappeared from Amazon I tried this one as still labelled Ared 2. I found the otevious to be cause if constipation which does bit happen with these. Now I see the previous has risen in price too. Very expensive! Recent trip for eye test confirmed no change so I will be continuing with present , British made variety.

I have bought several packs since last year and it looks OK to me. You still need to take the normal medical treatment such as eye injection. One thing I hope can be improve is the pill size. It is a bit too big to swallow and some times cause a bit problem to my mouth. If the pill size can be reduced it will be perfect.

My partner has recently been diagnosed with dry macular degeneration. We decided to give this supplement a try, as American research results seem really promising. (our pharmacist says it has not yet been passed for prescribing by NHS but encouraged us to try it) It is too early to say whether it is helping or not. My partner hasn't noticed any further deterioration - but obviously this is early days (he's only been on the tablets for a month) and it is only a subjective opinion. For a proper, objective result, we will have to wait for the next scan - which is still several months away. We chose this brand of the supplement as it contains the exact levels of each ingredient recommended by the latest research. (some other makes do not) The main issue with these tablets is their size. They really are VERY big. Sometimes, if they 'go down' at just the right angle, he can swallow them with no difficulty but, on other occasions, he nearly chokes on them! The manufacturers do say that you can cut the tablets into smaller pieces or even crush them. He wouldn't recommend the former as, even using a proper tablet cutter, the pieces end up with sharp, jagged edges, which are even harder to swallow or the latter as he finds the taste absolutely disgusting - and neither seems a good idea anyway, if exact amounts of each ingredient is important. As we have now found another make that not only uses the same, exact, recommended levels but also splits the daily dose between capsules, which are smaller and much easier to swallow - we will be ordering from them in future.

Great product

I would like to say something good about them. However these were so big and so difficult to swallow that in fact I am returning them to amazon upon my return from holiday. I contacted Amazon immediately they arrived when my husband tried twice to swallow a tablet. The second time he choked and we had to slap his back to get it out if his thrust. This tablet unfortunately scratched and left him him with a nasty throat for several days afterwards. What a pity. These tablets need to be either smaller, softer, or suckable.

I ordered this because it complied with AREDS formula and was convenient in only needing to be taken once a day. I was aware people had complained it was difficult to swallow, but I normally don’t have any problems in swallowing pills. But I have never before come across any that were so difficult! They are not only large but extremely dry and stick in the throat ( even when bitten into several pieces).
