I have car door handles broken (plastic). Will it fix them 'firmly' enoughconsidering that we always pull the handles to close the door.

I personally would use Araldite which comes in two tubes. I do NOT guarantee that it will stay fixed but, in my opinion, it is stronger than super glue, although I do use Loctite a lot for small jobs, which it is excellent for.

Are these recyclable?

It depends on your local council on what type of plastic they take. If you do recycle it will have to be cleaned out first then top put back on.

Would this glue be strong enough for connecting a broom handle to the socket in the brush head or wld I need a thicker one?

This loctite is the best of these type of super glues but I would not rely on it your case. if this is a wooden brush head I would devise a method of using long screws to secure it. I have done this a few times always with success every time.
