Our Granddaughter loves this toy. The colors and the textures keep her interested. It's light weight, easy to throw into a diaper bag and keeps her amused.

*Update* I realized it was user error regarding the "pop" sound. When does quickly and by larger fingers, the "pop" sound can be heard.This is the second travel toy we have in this style and we much prefer the other one (Cawgug UFO toy). This one is lightweight but that's really the only nice feature. The poppers do not make that satisfying "pop" noise that kids love. The slider is a bit too advanced for the targeted age (this is true for both toys). I would not a let a baby with teeth chew on this because the circles at the end of the pull strings are choking hazards. This is most appropriate for an infant or toddler that is working on grasping due to the different textures, and mouthing but without the ability the really bite. There are better options available for this type of toy.

This is a great toy for your favorite toddler! The colors are soothing and the toy is busy enough to keep the babe occupied for a while.

My son is always amused by this toy. Simple as it may be, it gives many opportunities for exploration and imagination. The textured pulls and pop-its are awesome for a quick sensory fix as well.

There doesn't seem to be much variety in toys for babies 6 to 12 months old. And it seems that the toys out there will be outgrown quickly, but this crab is very different from our other toys. The "crab" portion of this toy is a firm plastic with different textures etched into the sides. The eyes, claws and mouth are silicone and the pull strings are flexible rubber. There are so many materials and textures along with with shapes, buttons and pulls. It seems that most Montessori toys are bulky but this one is small, lightweight and transportable. It is bpa free and but I don't believe it is dishwasher safe.I will admit that I have been playing with this toy since it arrived earlier today, so if your child doesn't like it, then it also works as an adult fidget toy. At some point, I hope to hand it over to a child ;)
