The explanations are clear
The Edexcel GCSE (9–1) Mathematics: Higher Student Book is one of the best resources available for students preparing for the higher-tier maths exams. The explanations are clear, and the examples are structured logically, gradually increasing in difficulty. Each topic includes practice questions that mirror the real exam style, which makes revision more effective. What I particularly like is how it balances theory and problem-solving it doesn’t just show the formulas, it helps you understand how to apply them. The visual layout and worked examples are also quite student-friendly. However, a few topics could use deeper explanations, especially for students aiming for top grades (8–9). Some of the challenge questions can feel repetitive rather than conceptually tougher. Overall, it’s a reliable and comprehensive textbook perfect for classroom use or independent study. Highly recommended for anyone serious about scoring well in the Edexcel Higher Maths GCSE.

so I decided it would be good to have my own copy
I bought this as it is the textbook I use at school, so I decided it would be good to have my own copy. If you are looking for a book that will teach you maths, then you may have to look elsewhere as this book assumes your knowledge of the subject. However, I find this book good as it is filled with practice questions that are perfect for me. Give this book a try if you are trying to strengthen your math skills rather than learning them for the first time.

Good Book
Very good book. Helped me understand the topics so much easier. Would for sure recommend it. Everything is laid out perfectly and make it easy to ready. Only down side is the lack of exam question. Apart from that great.

Not enough for higher tier students
This book uses the method of learning by doing questions: without explanation. Trial and error. For a higher tier student this isn't enough at all. Yes, there are questions but mostly wording; there are not even proper explanations or many algebraic questions such as factorising. The colours, the layout are all distracting in my opinion. Topics such as ratios are in 2 chapters but both chapters doesn't cover it fully. A chapter has two different topics therfore students can't concentrate on one topic. New GCSE has many aspects of maths to cover so students should work on one topic until they are confident. Also This book has many mistakes and but Amazon said that they would update the book when receive the corrections from the publisher. nevertheless New curriculum is heavy with reasoning problems which this book covers. Dissapointment, I won't recommend this to any higher tier student but I couldn't find anything better either.

It is worth its price and it was in a new condition but some dirt came stuck on the book cover that won't come out.
