Solid build, functionality somewhat lacking
So this came at about 16 quid, at this price the expectations are for high quality and performance.Build quality is satisfactory, it has a nice feel. The power adaptor plug is quite small, the device is not going to be able to draw too much power through that. And this brings us to the strangeness of the bottom charging port. If you indeed try to use this port to charge something the hub will drop the 4 USB 3.0 ports to USB 2.0 bandwidth. It makes no sense as a configuration. You cant really use them all.I got plain USB power supply hubs with 4 charger ports + 1 fast changing port that can all output their full power at the same time.Essentially the device should have a triple switch to select betweenOff,the 4 USB 3.0 portsor the 1 charger port.Ironically and confusingly there are labels right next to the On / Off switch that makes you think that you can select between the 4 data ports or the charger port but is not how it works.

Does the job !!
Bought this because I had a USB 3 DVD drive with a short USB cable. I run Windows 10 and putting on any form of extension cable meant that the drive would not be recognised (common issue with Windows 10), but plugging it directly in to the PC USB connector then everything worked fine.I now have this Hub connected to the PC USB connector and have the DVD drive attached to one of the 4 USB ports. The cable for the Hub is about 0.6 metres long, so allows me to have the DVD drive sitting alongside the PC. I also have a tablet connected to the charging port, and this seems to work OK.The Hub does get slightly warm (not hot, just off cold), and there is no signs of any noise.I am writing this after only a few hours of use, so will update after I have been using it for a few weeks.

Fastest USB hub I've ever used
This is the fastest USB hub I've owned. A previous known brand hub and also the 2 port integral hub of a Seagate Backup plus hub all provided me with the same disappointing performance. When I connected 2 hard drives to the previous hubs and transferred data between the two then the performance took a massive hit. Looking at about 40 MB/s transfer rate. Transferring between one drive plugged into the hub and a drive installed in the PC gave a transfer rate of about 90MB/s (Better). This BOLWEO-UK hub gives me about 115MB/s in all combinations. I'm using powered drives so no need to use the supplied mains power supply. With the power supply attached my Western Digital passport had no problems functioning. The 5th port on the hub is for charging USB devices. I haven't used this yet as it's not a feature I needed but good to have anyway. The hub has a power rocker switch but I recommend this is left on otherwise I found I had to reseat the hub into the PC or re-boot for drives to be connected. Not sure what the point of the switch is but it does turn off the blue LEDs. Highly recommended product, wish I'd purchased this earlier.

Bulky, but functional and reliable
The hub is bulky, but not ugly. It appears to function well, and has not yet failed after a couple of weeks (whether other USB hubs from other manufacturers have). Not sure if the rocker on / off switch is necessary, nor the lights (although they off a nice glow at night). The USB ports could probably be closer together to make it smaller. I use the charging port all the time for my phone. Because the ports are on the top of the device, the cables are quite visible, however, the rectangular form enables the hub to sit sideways quite well.

Best and fastest hub I ever bought
Best and fastest hub I ever bought. My advice is always use a powered hub. Plugging too many devices into an unpowered hub left me a bit puzzled as to why my wi-fi dongle kept dropping out, just because I plugged in a memory stick. This hub solved the problem. Although my other hub is USB 3.0 also, this one transferred my backup 5x faster!

Dangerous do not buy
Dangerous do not buy.Pins on plugs have detached from body, earth pin has snapped off. See photos for evidence of shoddy build qualityAfter a few uses we have an issue with plug/power converter supplied with product.Just noticed it was hot after being plugged in for an hour.As you can see one of the power pin heads is attempting to detach itself.Unfortunately I've missed my refund window, but you haven't if you don't buy this and find a different one.

Don't plug a USB C lead into it
Ordered one, it came, plugged a USB C lead into the charger port and it bricked the USB hub and also bricked the lead. Thinking that this was my USB lead that had caused it I ordered another one and also a genuine USB C lead from HTC. Plugged in the new one then plugged in the USB lead and the same thing happened again. If the company wants to contact me please feel free.

A well designed hub
I have a powered hub in the past which did what was promised provided only small sized USB devices were used side by side. With this one here is plenty of room for a variety of shapes. It is attractive and well made, complete with a USB charging socket, a power switch and a cute USB lamp. All this helps to assist my aging laptop to power up plug in accessories.
